No, he isn't, but he looks more like a Jǐnyīwèi, one of the Embroidered Uniform Guards, who were more like special units or secret police that answered to the Emperor. And I think he is hunting demons or something like that.
Exactly, they said he's a Jinyiwei, demon hunting division⚡. His uniform is closer to reality out of the others in this Xianxia, as they said it was modelled on the JYW 'flying fish suit'. It's funny as this role echoes 'FOF' where he was also hunting Neo's demon.

Oh cool! I thought his costume did look more recognizably 'historical,' besides being just gorgeous. I remember gasping when I saw the full body pics. Just striking.

I looked it up, it's called: feiyufu/飞鱼服. Prob like the Kun, some kindof mythical fish, python creature that's supposed to be on the suits.
Don't get me started on sadist GuoJM. He didn't have to get WD for that role. He filmed him on his days off from 'TBL'. But after spending hrs filming, he'd be given just a 2 hr gap between being let go, & going back into 'TBL' makeup, with no sleep. In the end his role was a tool char, cut to 3 mins of screen time! Rant OVER😆.

Ah, the Hello Saturday pics! Yes! I love that show, and seeing him, not the characters. Cause once he puts on the costumes and make up, he seems to be the character... even with headphones and his take out cup. ;p

Interesting about the feiyufu. I need to read up on the Kun. I first learned about / saw it in Tong Hua's A Lifetime of Love / Once Promised, a retelling of Chinese mythological history, where it a sentient mount. I'm sure there's more to it than that.
Good Lord. No wonder why I felt his appearance in FoF was a giant waste.
