The Unclouded Soul
#XiaoyaoFinale#
- Am I the only one who thinks the ending of Xiaoyao is a happy ending?🥹
The scenes of Xiao Yao and Hong Ye's first meeting in the room (episode 2) and their final reunion in the room (episode 40) are different in detail!
Hong Ye's tone changed, and what she said was different too.
The first time they met, Hong Ye said, "Don't all little girls like these things?" At that time, Hong Ye and Xiao Yao weren't familiar with each other.
In the finale, in the room, Hong Ye said, "Last night you said the bed was a bit hard, and maybe making them up would be better. These are all things that can be discussed." At this stage, Hong Ye is clearly more familiar with Xiao Yao and gentler towards her. I think Hong Ye should retain memories of Xiao Yao!
This isn't a restart, this is a second playthrough! And Xiao Yao even won a very lucky fortune stick—all of this is foreshadowing! - Susu screaming princess
I've finished watching "Xiaoyao." In my opinion, the ending is a happy one, with the timeline restarting when the male and female leads' feelings are at their purest.
The relationship between humans and demons is a fundamental setting in Chinese fantasy. Although Xianxia dramas have been overdone, we shouldn't abandon them.
"Xiaoyao" uses a dual structure of episodic detective stories and a main plot of mystery-seeking, adding a realistic depth and human tenderness to the Xianxia framework. Xiao Yao and Hong Ye have unusual backgrounds and identities, but their love, hate, greed, and anger reflect the suffering and emotions of all beings.
Frankly, for Xu Jizhou, as a male creator, to write such an emotionally nuanced original script, my assessment is: very good. Moreover, the cinematography is not overly dramatic, making most of the actors look quite good.
At the beginning of filming, many people said it was like "Inuyasha," jokingly referring to several long dramas with similar demon settings as "Inuyasha 101." But after watching "Xiaoyao," there's no connection. Instead, it solidly establishes a world-building and several pairs of human-demon character relationships, which became an unexpected surprise.
- What's truly terrifying are never insects or plants; they follow the laws of nature, the principles of all things. Their toxicity is simply their way of survival. What the world doesn't realize is that the real poison lies in the human heart. The human heart is the perfect vessel for nurturing evil, allowing it to grow unchecked, fueled by boundless greed.- Chen jiyao
