Its head, Yan Ru Yu, joins forces with strategist Shu Xiu Zhong to introduce innovative business models such as the Tianshi Leisure Gazette and "escort vouchers," as they struggle to make a living and earn money.

This ordinary team, coming from humble backgrounds and possessing only mediocre martial arts skills, barely makes ends meet by taking low-paying escort jobs. While repaying old debts, they travel from place to place escorting goods and, along the way, carefully unravel clues to solve mysterious cases.

In troubled times, they make a living amid the bustle of everyday life; burdened by old debts, they weather the ups and downs of the escort trade.

Both dramas deliver a gripping story of royal revenge, dark palace politics, and deep trust issues. If you loved the intense dynamic in Revenge where the leads use each other as strategic pawns amid deadly court conspiracies before genuine affection takes over, you will definitely appreciate the high stakes mind games and turbulent romance in Story of Kuning Palace.

If You Loved The Double, Give Revenge a Try!
If you enjoyed The Double, you might want to keep an eye on Revenge, starring Zhang Linghe and Lu Yuxiao!

Both stories feature revenge, hidden identities, political schemes, and complicated relationships set against the backdrop of the imperial court. In Ci Tang, Ye Tingyan hides his true identity while pursuing revenge after the tragic events surrounding the Crown Prince. Meanwhile, Su Luowei has her own reasons for seeking revenge, creating an intriguing dynamic between two characters whose pasts are deeply connected.

What makes these stories interesting is the combination of strategic mind games, court intrigue, and romance woven into a larger revenge plot. If you enjoyed the tension, scheming, and slow burn romantic elements of The Double, Revenge might be another historical Cdrama worth adding to your watchlist!

Of course, the two dramas have different storylines, but they share some appealing themes that revenge drama fans may enjoy.

If you enjoyed The Road to Glory, you might also want to give Revenge a try! Both staring by ZLH and dramas feature political intrigue, power struggles, and complicated relationships in an imperial setting. The main characters are caught up in dangerous schemes where loyalty, betrayal, and ambition can change the course of their lives. Both stories also blend romance with larger political conflicts, showing how personal feelings can become complicated when power and responsibility are involved. While The Road to Glory focuses on Xiao Li's journey to help Wen Yu reclaim her kingdom, Revenge centers on hidden identities and revenge following a tragic incident involving the Crown Prince. Although their plots take different directions, both dramas may appeal to viewers who enjoy historical Cdamas with political tension, determined protagonists, and romance woven into a larger story.

Revenge and The Princess Royal share several similarities, especially in their second-chance, political and romantic storylines. Both feature characters whose past experiences deeply influence their present actions, giving them the opportunity to change the course of events and avoid or correct previous tragedies.
In both stories, political marriage is closely connected to power and court politics, while the central relationships are built on complicated histories, mistrust and hidden intentions.
The leads constantly test, calculate and manipulate situations, often treating each other as pieces in a larger political game while trying to understand the other's true motives. Their romances are also intertwined with revenge, political struggles and the desire to change their fate.
However, while The Princess Royal focuses more on the mutual second chance of Li Rong and Pei Wen Xuan and their gradual journey from suspicion to partnership and love, Revenge places greater emphasis on identity, betrayal and revenge, with Song Ling returning as Ye Tingyan while Su Luowei remains unaware of his true identity.
This creates a similar dynamic of two people with a shared past entering a dangerous political game where neither can completely trust the other, but Revenge adds an extra layer of tension through the concealed identity and unresolved betrayal between its leads.

What makes Revenge particularly interesting is that the male lead is a minister deeply involved in politics, so we get to see how calculating and strategic he is, how much he conveys through his expressions, and how he handles different political situations.
This is especially comparable to The Princess Royal, where Zhang Linghe's character, Pei Wen Xuan, also had to constantly calculate his moves and navigate complicated court politics, while often behaving differently depending on what he was trying to achieve.
Since he has already portrayed a minister so well, it will be interesting to see how much he has grown and evolved in portraying a political, intelligent and strategic character this time, especially with the heavier political focus of the story.

My Journey to You and Revenge aren't particularly similar in terms of plot or characters, but My Journey to You is still a great recommendation for anyone excited about Revenge or looking forward to it.
First, Zhang Linghe and Lu Yuxiao have already worked together there, which makes their reunion in Revenge even more exciting.
Second, MJTY has the kind of intricate character writing, political atmosphere and constant deception that makes Revenge so intriguing based on what we know about it so far.
Lu Yuxiao's character, in particular, has a layered spy storyline where she is constantly hiding her intentions and carrying out her own plans.
So, if you're excited to see her take on the Empress role in Revenge, watching MJTYis a great way to get a glimpse of the kind of complex and deceptive character performance she can bring to the new drama.
