The Star stone which can probably transform into a human as well is master of all these illusions as they were actually past witnessed by the stone itself. The people pulled inside become masters of their own illusions meaning they were related to the past by witnessing it or were a part of the respective past. The only common point in all these illusions is the presence of both the star stone and Wu Zhiqi. Also, the three illusions coincide with the catastrophes that happened in the now became desert

Aodeng Tribe - 1000 years ago ( Lu Wu Yi and Chi Wen's Illusion )

We audience were already explained about the Aodeng tribe from the art on the tree rot, green ape tribe played a love game and stole the star stone from them. It starts with the case of Ao Deng people plagued by a plague and were liberated with the fall of a meteorite from the sky. This became the star stone and was passed down by the chieftain of the tribe to his daughter Di Zhu as dowry. Di Zhu had a lover called Man Man who was actually a spy from Green Ape tribe and worked along with Wu Zhiqi. The legend says Man Man killed so called suitors of Di Zhu's suitors and ran away with the stone while the hurricane catastrophe wiped out the whole tribe. But all of these incidents were caused by a demon called Jiu Ying, whom we already know as Demon King subdued by the Dragon Clan. He was once a snake inside a venomous egg under the earth where the tribe lived, which explains why fell ill. The egg hatched from the heat of the meteor strike, causing the poison to go away and clearing the illness. This snake absorbed the star stone's power and became a demon that later took control of the first person it met, Di Zhu. Luckily, the girl happened to have access to the star stone and Jiu Ying gained more power enough to grow another head. Later when the stone became a dowry and suitors coming in to marry Di Zhu, Jiu Ying (possessing Di Zhu) killed these suitors and framed Man Man. Upon the murders havoc and fear spread throughout the tribe and Jiu Ying started feeding on these negative emotions instead of the star stone growing another head with three heads in total as of now. Jiu Ying killed Man Man an Di Zhu and made Wu Zhiqi go crazy casuing the hurricane that wiped out the tribe. Jiu Ying further went to grow nine heads with each being to split ino nine more fragments taking contol of people all over(9x9=81 people). Jiu Ying was subdued the Dragon Deity along with 10 sons, out of which nine died and became the mountains that block him from getting free while the last one dragon reamins.

Green Ape Tribe - 150 years ago ( Yuan Wuhuo and Li Jie's Illusion )

Li Jie got into an illusion where he possessed Yuan Xizai's body, a guy who along with his brother Yuan Wuhuo infiltrated the Green Ape Tribe. We later come to know that they are both humans on a bounty for the star stone. Yuan Xizai was blind and ill, and his brother fed him dragon bone marrow which cured his blindness and made him have sacred power. They break into the cave where Wu Zhiqi held the star stone, now turned into a human called Tian Di. Wu Zhiqi schemed with Jiu Ying to use the star stone break out war between humans and demons. They rescue the star stone with help from Wu Zhiqi who double crosses Jiu Ying. Wu Zhiqi is taken hostage by the six eyed butterfly demon (a pair of brothers again) and the star stone explodes losing control of his powers due to overwhelming emotions. Yuan Xizai seemingly dies in the earlier explosion. This explains another catastrophe which is the star stone exploding into many fragments. This past also explains the Yuan Clay Incident, where Wu Zhiqi's younger brother went into the human world only to be killed causing a war between Ape Demons and humans. This later is found out to be a ploy of Jiu Ying, just to absorb hatred and become powerful. As for the related people in the illusion, it turns out Yuan Wuhuo, the now butterfly demon was the Yuan Wuhuo who once infiltrated the ape tribe with his little brother. The little brother who Li Jie roleplays in the illusion is revealed to be the current Dragon Deity Chi Wen.

Flood Dragon Tribe - 50 years ago ( Shiguang and Wangyan's Illusion )

The story begins with the flood dragon tribe chieftain Cang Hao picking up a baby in the river. This baby happens to be Wu Shiguang himself. Wang Yan posesses the body of Cang Hao's wife Qing Yi. Shiguang decides to stay in the illusion rather than looking for the star stone to know what happened during his clan's massacre by Shilin Sect. WS and WY stay in the illusion for around 20 years, only for a younger Shiguang to bring a fragment of star stone that exploded 100 years ago as gift for Cang Hao's birthday. Wu Zhiqi follows Shiguang to steal back the stone fragment only to be defeated by Xie Lingzi. This Xie Lingzi was WS's master who passed down those prayer beads to him upon his passing. Xie Lingzi makes a bet with Wu Zhiqi that he will be rewarded the star stoone fragment upon his defeat. Wu Zhiqi never wins, prolonging years. Upon another defeat, a choiceless Wu Zhiqi tells Xie Lingzi that he needs the star stone to save his people from petrification. Sometime after the explosion of the star stone, the ape tribe fell ill and Wu Zhiqi uses a petrification spell taught by Tian Di to make them all stones freeing them from agony. However the spirits are trapped and Wu Zhiqi looks to undo the spell for their salvation. It is revealed that Xie Lingzi is the star stone all along, who was saved by the Dragon Deity after the explosion. This causes Wu Zhiqi to kidnap Shiguang forcing Xie to come save him, while the flood dragon clan is attacked by Shilin sect at the same time. WS inside Cang Hao's body finds out that it was not the Shilin Sect, but it was Wang Yan who attacked the sect, However, Wang Yan was controlled by Jiu Ying during this period as one of the 81 spirit fragments entered her body that takes over when the host wavers control of their mind for short durations. Jiu Ying does so, to find a true dragon as only a dragon can kill the dragon deity which in turn will allow Jiu Ying to break free into the world. Xie Lingzi defeats Wu Zhiqi and saves Shiguang, and flees with him to protect him from Jiu Ying only to die in the process.
