Caution:It will test your patience

If you’re drawn to love stories that feel more like battles than romances, Feud might pull you in — but not without testing your patience.

I went into Feud expecting a typical Xianxia romance — and while it did follow some genre tropes, it also surprised me in a few unexpected ways.

First of all, I have very mixed feelings about the main couple. In the beginning, the chemistry between Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng felt off. Their tension didn’t come across as romantic or electric — it was just… uncomfortable. It took several episodes before their dynamic started to feel more natural. But once it clicked, it really worked. Their love-hate pull had this addictive emotional push-pull that kept me invested, even when the plot started dragging.

The story itself had some genuinely beautiful themes — fate, karma, redemption, and the blurry line between gods and demons. Some of those human moments really hit, especially scenes that explored memory, sacrifice, and grief. But it also repeated itself a lot. Characters kept going in circles, making the same decisions or having similar confrontations, which slowed the pace and made the middle part feel unnecessarily drawn out.

Side characters? Wasted potential. A few had interesting backstories or emotional arcs, but they were barely explored. It’s a shame because developing them would’ve made the world feel more alive and taken some of the pressure off the main storyline.

The CGI was impressive, though! Especially for a fantasy drama — the effects, set design, and world-building really elevated the whole vibe. Visually, Feud is stunning.

Now, the ending… yeah. It was confusing. I get what they were trying to do — go for something symbolic and emotionally open-ended — but it just didn’t land for me. There were too many loose threads and not enough closure, especially after such a long emotional buildup.

Overall:

Feud had great ideas, some strong emotional moments, and gorgeous visuals. But it struggled with pacing, underdeveloped side plots, and a finale that left more questions than answers. I still recommend it if you’re into slow-burn Xianxia with complex themes — just don’t expect a satisfying resolution.

Rating: 7/10
Would I rewatch? Probably only the romantic scenes.
Would I recommend? Yes, but with a warning.

A butchered script

There was a lot more potential in this story, especially as presented in the first third or half of the drama. Whether it was exploring deeper themes such as divine intervention vs fate and yin/yang, or whether it was exploring the very human stories of a failed marriage and the pain of losing a child, these could have gone in a more interesting direction. The script takes the safer route of maximizing drama in scenes but not taking the time to really plan out the structure of the story or the development of characters and themes in a more polished manner. In the hands of a better director, perhaps this still could have at least looked and sounded more layered. In the end, the whole thing is a bit soulless and forgettable. There are still moments that could be moving (I found Li Mo's story the most compelling) and entertaining, but in a year with already some great xianxia dramas, this is not one the ones I would recommend first to check out.

Mortals and Immortals

It was a good series. I enjoyed watching it. There were parts that I found lame and incomplete. Things like going off topic or digressing, death, birth, mortality, immortality a few times and it confuses people. It would have been better if there were no confusing things like that, if it weren't for jumping from branch to branch and if it was followed in a certain order and the subject was handled like that. However, it is still a great production, good actors, good acting, good management, good costumes, good make-up, it shows that importance is given to the series. It is meticulous. There is effort. That's why the series shines. It makes you say it could have been much better. I liked the emotionality in the series. It was well-presented. I was especially impressed by the scenes of QingYue and Bai Jiu Si's children dying and Meng Chang Qin dying. It was very emotional. While saying this, the scenes with Zhao Yi Qin brought movement to the series. It added a different color. I liked it very much. Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng's performances were also very good. They gave an example of a good couple. They were in harmony. I also liked He Rui Xian and Chen Xin Hai. They gave good performances. Liang Yong Qi, Zhao Zhao Yi, Hong Yao, Sarita Sun, Ayden Sng, Wang Ting Wen, Zuo Xio Qing, Huang Ri Ying, Zhaou Jie Qiong were the actors who caught my attention. I liked it. I recommend it to those who want to watch.

Boring and awkward, like bad copy-cat of other dramas' popular stuff.

I really like Bai Lu, Story of the Kunning Palace one of my best favorites ever I rewatch and rewatch while waiting for good dramas (is there any this year?). I liked her in many more dramas and liked less in a couple of lame dramas but this is the lamest ever. First I watched the first episode, then couldn't carry on, was not interested, later I tried again, I watched 4.5 episodes.
This is one of the most boring and lame dramas I've ever started to watch. The ML is disguised as if he would be Xiang Liu but only a similar wig and costume won't give him that edge. The crisis events felt awkward and absolutely lame.
After 4 episodes we till don't know the reason of his hatred, not even a clue, because of it he looks just petty, mean.
While in One and Only Bai Lu was perfect as a teen - young adult girl, here the she is not convincing as cute and naive young girl, to be honest badass / strong character roles suites her more. I didn't like Till The End of the Moon, also because it was lame enough here and there, incredible and exaggerated but this... I didn't like Moonlight Mistique depsite of that I usually like the work of that director very much, there the issue was miscast, the guy just didn't have that demonic edge to play a demon king successfully which ruined the tale for me, and the second leads saved the drama till the level I was able to watch it till the end.

I can't cope with Feud, I don't know how something can be as wrong as this on many levels, I don't care about the characters, I don't feel anything because they are suffering, I can't "live in the tale" because the story is boring. unrealistic even for a fantasy piece and no CGI can save that.

Sorry, just utterly disappointed, I wanted to watch it during holiday and endend up nothing to watch abroad.

Meandering Scenes with No Logic and No Story; Making This Series Unwatchable

The cast is beautiful as are the costumes, but that does not make up for the lack of logical storytelling. We meet the FL, Qingyue, who has been living at a mortal sect of magical practitioners for 11 years. In this time, she has developed no valuable skills or powers but yet is stationed as a guard at the sect gates. She’s obsessed with romance. Though we’re told this instead of shown this , and in turn decides to marry a God whom she knows nothing about.

Granted he saved her life when a rogue monkey tried to kill her and is a good looking guy. But there is no logic in a) why she would betroth herself to him while not knowing one thing about him. B) why when she saw that he was obviously not a mortal she didn’t ask who he was and where he was from. C) Why she would hide him in her home knowing it would cause serious trouble if he was discovered? She then happily “marries” him having no idea why he selected her as his spiritual partner or anything else about what being married to a God will entail. She moves to his kingdom where the “story” gets even worse. It’s literally just one scene after another that have no connection and with no effort to built a logical story.

There does seem to be some past drama connected to the FL, based on the ML’s, the God, brief and ambiguous dialogue with his main subject, but there has been no effort to build on whatever that is. This started off mildly entertaining but eventually devolved into a story with no purpose. If you’re considering giving this a try, I say save your time and watch something else.

Not your average romance xianxia drama

I'd go as far as to say this isn't much of a romance drama at all. There is a love story here but the overarching point of the show is to dissect the status quo. One of the few shows that looked at godhood through the lens of privilege & oppression. Ruyue is the proverbial Prometheus of the story who steals fire from gods to give to humanity. She refuses to be an unmoved god in heaven condescending the mortals & their struggles instead stands with them even at the cost of her relationship and her standing as a Supreme Goddess. The underlying thread is discussing the theme of obsession. Love that has soured coz of loss or wrong expression. Ruyue loved her son & the loss of that son made her vengeful. Jiusi loved Ruyue but he couldn't communicate & his actions inadvertently harmed her. Honglian loves Li Mo but devilizes fully when she realizes that he doesn't love her the same way/ prioritizes altruistic love over romantic love. Ling er's father loves her but he's controlling. The main "villain" loved his family but he devilizes to avenge their deaths. All the stories are talking about love gone bad. Interestingly they also draw parallels between the main "villain" & the hero Ruyue. Ruyue looted heavenly artifacts to revive her son & Xiao Jingshan cultivated to immortality & ascended to heaven only to erase the name of his family's murderer. Jingshan seems to have a real kinship w Ruyue. The tail end of the story is each of them learning to give up their obsession & make peace with what is than hope for what could be. That's why Ruyue changed the past but the future didn't change. She simply made their lives better where in time they were. Even if utimately things ended the same way they had more moments of peace & happiness before the end. I wouldn't classify this as a romance or even a plot driven xianxia. It's a character driven xianxia. The stakes are high but power is never the crux of the struggles. Xiao jingshan didn't become evil to rule the world he did all that to do sumn as small as erasing one name off a pillar. Ruyue didn't loot heavens to be powerful. She did it for her son. That made for a very interesting watch.

THIS IS ABOUT A WOMAN REVENGE TO A MAN WHO LOVES HER

My Thoughts on the Drama So Far

Dramas are ultimately what the writer wants them to be. They can write anything they like—even if the story becomes nonsensical, irrelevant, or completely impossible. This is especially true for period dramas involving celestial beings—where people can die and come back to life, wounds heal instantly, and characters live multiple lifetimes with supernatural bodies that seem indestructible.

Sometimes, you just can’t take what you see at face value. The plot can twist in ways that defy logic or imagination. More and more, it feels like writers are pushing themes like rebirth, time travel, and alternate lives, as if trying to brainwash viewers into accepting a world full of fantasy and illusion. If you watch too many of these, it’s easy to get swept up in the lies they present.

As for the romance aspect—love often starts off pure, but then turns ugly, bitter, even vengeful. No matter what happens in the story, I find myself completely drawn to the male lead (ML). Despite his flaws or strengths, I just love him. Love is blind, and so am I. Whether he's warm or cold, right or wrong, I still choose him.

I really don’t like the female lead (FL) at all. To me, she comes off as scheming, calculative, and even wicked. She doesn't deserve his love. If she truly loved him, she wouldn’t kill him again and again—especially when he doesn’t even understand what he did wrong. Yes, I’m biased toward the ML. Maybe I’ll change my view once I finish the whole drama and understand her reasons better. But for now, my conclusion stands.

If you truly love someone, even when they hurt you, you forgive them. Not just once, but many times—like how Jesus said to forgive 70 times 7. I know it’s hard to forgive someone who’s caused you deep pain. But if the love is real, it’s possible. I’m not saying I could easily do it myself, but if I had someone who loved me the way he loves her, I might forgive him more easily than I thought.

One thing I really dislike is the way the FL takes revenge. It feels very underhanded. She tricks him into marriage, then kills him on the spot when his guard is down. Even after he gives her his life orb, she deceives him again. That’s just cruel. He’s too naïve to keep trusting her, and she keeps betraying him. Evil woman!

Watching Eps 27 now, both of them suffer for 10 yrs , both dont know what happened, I think Bai jui si is a better man, because he choose to suffer for her and she suffer less just become a mortal and suffer ordinary stuffs a mortal suffer. Yet she is so embittered towards him whereas he is so forgiving and suffers for her mistakes. In this life the DEVIL is always causing trouble between loving couples, whether u all make it onot, depends on whether how great is yr LOVE for each other. I admit it takes great courage , ENTER the CHALLENGE only if you can take it.

I guess in the end, they’ll probably reconcile—whatever. I’ll update again once I finish the drama.

Interesting story line with strong cast, overshadowed with disappointing dubbing !!

Disclaimer: My feedback is based on first 10 Episodes and it might change.

The drama had a start very similar to Wuxia dramas, a little slow, I agree with the criticism that dubbing makes it distracting and artificial. But so far the story is getting interesting. The CGI is ok, not too bad, the actors are doing a decent job. Bailu chooses good scripts, so waiting for the story to unfold and give us the back story and story that the trailers hinted at. All in all it’s a decent watch, wish the dubbing was done by the actors themselves as often the voice and the expression on the actors face are noticeably different!!

They show intresting clip or some serious immediately cut and start somewhere else back and forth , i know some have 2scenes but this contains 3 or 4 and immediately changing to other plot am i robot? To immediately switch my reactions damn editor..

Sometimes the Greatest Love Can Turn Vindictive!

What do you do when the person you love is the one you hate the most?

Bai Lu returns with another wuxia romance because obviously that is her specialty. We are here to answer the most dreaded question- is her chemistry with new co-star Joseph Zeng worth mentioning. Do they click? Is their romance believable? To answer these questions, yes they click, their romance is unbelievably reckoning and the storyline is unexpectedly phenomenal. I went into this show with zero expectations, because from the trailer it seemed like a tug of war between the main protagonists. My only concern was whether the show will have a happy ending or not. For three quarters of the show, our main leads are engaged in a revenge saga, full of misunderstandings and deception. Our main couple though powerful have major communication issues, they don’t talk or communicate well which leads to ginormous problems of epic proportions. Since they are Gods, their fights have serious consequences. It’s a “Life & Death” battle and our female lead spends a major chunk of time trying to kill her love interest (sounds familiar, that is another characteristic trait in Bai Lu’s shows).

Painfully Childish, Hopelessly Absurd!

What a disappointingly lame story. I genuinely felt sorry for Bailu and Joseph, having to portray such poorly written characters in an even worse plot.

The so-called heavenly lord comes across as utterly brainless and incompetent, repeatedly allowing his wife to be captured and put in danger, and even nearly marrying another man simply because he’s suspicious of her?!

Tell me, what kind of "heavenly lord" is so foolish as to resort to such idiotic tests of his own wife?

Absolutely absurd. Childish commedy. A Waste of talent and time. Couldn’t stomach any more. Dropped at episode 4!

I Hate Voice Overs

Aaaaaarghhhhhh! I am totally distracted watching the video because of the voice overs. I know Bai Lu's voice and the too kiddish voice being used is sickening. They've ruined this drama right off the bat. We all know she is no longer a kid, but her looks or video enhancing says otherwise. Why? Why? Why? Someone needs to rethink their career if they think this is acceptable.
