Shinsengumi: With You I Bloom Episode 11

The Shinsengumi troops scramble to prepare for their sortie. Before their departure, Kyujuro bids farewell to Daisaku with a heartfelt "Don't die." As night falls, Kondo's squad storms the Ikedaya. They discover the anti-shogunate samurai in hiding, and a fierce battle ensues. Gengo Shonai is confused as to how they were so precisely attacked and seeks help from Katsuragi. However, Katsuragi advises that they retreat and gather more strength, saving their resources for another comeback before questioning Gengo's trust in Daisaku and running off. In the midst of the chaos, Okita experiences a sudden pain in his chest, doubling over and coughing up blood. Shinnojo, unable to watch the fight, leaves the inn and returns to find a heavily wounded Namunosuke. Meanwhile, Kyujuro, caught in the fray, spots Gengo and attempts to confront him. He is easily defeated and almost cut down, but Daisaku blocks the sword and is hurt in his stead. Gengo is shocked at the turn of events, believing that Daisaku has betrayed him. He raises his sword, and Kyujuro, seeing this, finally snaps out of his haze, grabs his sword and strikes down Gengo. He utters the words 'traitor' before passing away, confusing Kyujuro, who realizes that he has just killed a person for the first time.
