Shinsengumi: With You I Bloom Episode 13

The arrival of the mysterious Ito Koshitaro and his younger brother Suzuki Mikisaburo stirs unrest amongst the members, particularly due to the brothers' unreachable demands and Ito's strange behaviour of choosing to talk to people whom he deems as worthy. Hijikata is displeased as Kondo had never discussed their invitation with him; he orders Saito Hajime to spy on them. When the Shinsengumi members' robes are told to stink of blood, Sanosuke and Daisaku rush to buy packets of scent. Katsuragi and a member of the Choshu rebels discuss why they were not killing off Daisaku; Katsuragi explains how easy it was to dispatch him off, yet he wants to see the Shinsengumi tearing down from within. Daisaku gets a flower scent packet for Kyujuro, yearning for their simple days, but he rejects him. The brothers conduct a sudden examination, and the original groups are separated, with Daisaku, Shinnojo and Saito Hajime being the only ones who successfully passed. The rest, including Kyujuro, are grouped into the less privileged team, and Kyujuro says that he would rather not be recognised by a man who values status above all. Daisaku and Shinnojo discuss their fears about their partners. Daisaku prepares Oshiroku, but Ito interrupts him. Daisaku leaves the team after a brief exchange of words with Ito. He is described as a 'wild boar', which makes him happy, and he is welcomed back with open arms. During lunch, Kyujuro skips food; Daisaku is tearfully elated to know that he has eaten all the Oshiroku he has made in spite of its terrible taste.
