It's honestly so good the actresses' micro expressions are giving the story even more depth. The metaphors and symbolisms used by the director to express things are actually smart. Impeccable casting. Hyeri is so good in emulating jaeyi that even tho she's being the kindest is actually very intimidating at the same time. Subin is also good, the way her eyes are very expressive. Perfect kdrama
WhoaThis is good stuff. I'm sooooooo hooked. I recommend to any and everyone to watch this. Acting, music, plot, characters, character development, everything is on point. I can't wait for the rest of the episodes.

You all have to check this out! It’s absolutely fantastic. Lee Hyeri looks stunning in her role, and I’m really impressed by the incredible acting from the entire cast. What’s even better is that we get to enjoy four episodes each week! That’s such a refreshing change compared to Thai dramas, which typically release just one episode weekly. Not to even exaggerate but ive watched lots and lots of kdramas(around 80~) but this is truly the best kdrama ive ever watched!The wlw tensions,the settings,the casting,the mistry...everything is truly chef's kiss.Ive never found myself looking forward to a kdrama this much!episode 9 just launched a few hours ago and ive already watched it twice.IActually not just ep 6,ive watched every eps twice at least.I found myself setting an alarm just to watch it the second it releases.I feel like dying just waiting for a few days for another episode!litreally been watching since episode(3) and cant stop since then!Im also glad that i am alive to be watching this.Cant wait for more episodes...litreally on the edge of my seat everyday!!Hopefully,korea makes more of these dramas and be more diverse.Was this review helpful to you?

SO IN LOVE RAAAAGH. Okay, but Friendly Rivalry is actually insane. I went in expecting some light academic rivalry with subtle GL undertones, but nope—they went all in on the tension, the longing stares, the barely-contained feelings. This drama is a sapphic fever dream, and I am obsessed.The story follows Woo Seul Gi (Chung Su Bin), the quiet, sharp new girl who transfers to Chaehwa Girls' High. She’s the classic "doesn’t care, but secretly cares too much" type, which already makes her dangerous. Enter Yoo Je Yi (Lee Hyeri), the school's golden girl—rich, popular, and terrifyingly good at getting what she wants. She’s got everyone wrapped around her finger… except Seul Gi. And that's exactly where the chaos starts.
Je Yi notices that Seul Gi isn't falling for her charm, and instead of moving on like a normal person, she fixates. Every interaction between them is loaded with this electrifying tension—one moment they're trading academic insults, the next they’re staring at each other like they want to either fight or kiss. And honestly? Half the time, it feels like both. The way Je Yi corners Seul Gi with that smug, unreadable expression? The way Seul Gi looks at her like she’s simultaneously intrigued and terrified? It’s giving insane gay yearning energy.
And don’t even get me started on the accidental touches and the way their voices drop to something softer when they’re alone. You know that K-drama trope where someone gets pushed against a wall, and it’s supposed to be threatening but it’s actually way too intimate? Yeah. That happens. Multiple times.
What I love most is how mutual it is. It’s not just Je Yi being obsessed—Seul Gi, for all her "I don’t care" energy, definitely cares. The way she watches Je Yi, how she wants to push her away but also never actually does? Their rivalry isn’t just about who’s smarter or stronger—it’s about control, about unspoken feelings, about figuring out if what they have is love or something even more dangerous.
I genuinely don’t know if this drama is going to give us a happy ending, but at this point, I just want them to admit it already. If you love GL dramas with ridiculously intense chemistry, power plays, and a whole lot of gay pining, Friendly Rivalry is a must-watch.

A must-watch series! I have to admit, I don’t usually watch K-dramas, but this one truly caught my attention. Every episode is amazing—never boring and always straight to the point. By the end of each episode, I find myself craving for more. Kudos to Hye-ri and Soo-bin for bravely portraying their characters. I hope they won’t be judged or bashed, as they are simply bringing joy to the LGBT community (Hoping it’s GL. 😅)Cheers!

I love the plot and the characters of this tv series. I am very intrigued to see what the future episodes hold for me. I do hope the show comes out on a better platform and easier to watch.
