An underrated gem!!
I watched it without knowing anything about the donghua or the novel. And I definitely think that people who have seen the donghua or read the novel are doing the drama a disservice. Yes, they might have changed Su Beilu's character a bit, but it added a very nice touch. Also, I don't think Su Beilu's character was stupid or silly; on the contrary, he was very sweet and cute!Ah, this drama should have at least an 8! Why was it given such a low score?? It was one of the best cdramas I watched in 2025.
A great bromance drama that gave me a bit of a BL vibe.
The acting was very good; they made me feel every emotion wonderfully. The locations chosen for the drama and the cinematography were captivating!
As a bromance fan, I watched it with great pleasure. The bond between Su Beilu and Bizhi was truly very strong. The finale ended in the best way possible. I don't know if it could have been better, but it made me a little emotional 🥹 I wish it had 40 episodes instead of 30; I would have watched it without ever getting bored.
It's definitely a series that will stay in my mind, make me smile when I remember it, and that I'll want to watch again and again. It's even become one of my favorite series.
Please ignore the negative comments and start watching it right away, you won't regret it!!
(Oh, I just wrote a very long comment, but then the page refreshed and it all disappeared. I could just sit here and cry...)

Oh, The Company That We Keep
I really, really enjoyed this series. I am a big sucker for series that can successfully combine science fiction, mystery drama, and quirky humor together. I was worried that the 30 episodes would drag, but each episode grabbing my attention and kept me entertained. The script was also very well laid out and did a great job connecting multiple aspects together in the end. They were very smart on how they spanned out the different storyline. There were some things that did not add-up which I’m use too with sci-fi series. The entire cast was incredible throughout this. I love all of the characters and the friend dynamic development between them. This also had amazing cinematography, CGI, and special effects.Random Note:
Continue watching after the last episode’s closing credits because there is an extra scene.
The ending was awesome. They also manage to make it a perfect series ending and keeping the door open for a second season. If the script is as good as this one, I would love a second season.
The opening and closing credits were hypnotic. I usually skip both during a series but I could not stop watching them.
This is defiantly going to be an unpopular opinion. I’m all for bromance, but I did not get that vibe between the main leads. I got more of a mixture of good friendship and older/younger brother (not in the romantic sense) vibe. Again, that’s just me.
In many ways, this reminds me of the American series “Warehouse 13”. Not so much of the artifact aspect, but of the overall vibe and storytelling format.

Emphasizing the ties that bind, with time travel done right
Did you ever get into a dilemma wondering about whether to watch a historical period or modern day drama? Well fret not now because this drama has both, and more (since it includes the future too LOL). One might think that this was just a short story based drama tying to the main mystery, but it ended up being much more. Each mini story had a deeper underlying message to convey about the ties between friends, lovers and family across time and space - ultimately emphasizing that no matter how fleeting our time is, or if it is even altered, what matters are the treasured bonds and memories between people, beyond material antiques. Afterall, the value of items in general, beyond aesthetic or functional use, also lies in the stories related to the object. An enjoyable watch with a slice of life kind of pace/vibe, I initially watched it because of Vengo but ended up staying because of the beautiful visuals of the set (Ya She's design was so intricate and a feast for the eyes honestly, along with the other sets, which had some level of detail beyond the usual cookie cutter set), intriguing mystery and compelling chemistry between the actors, both main and supporting. One minor gripe was that I do not really understand the driving force for the antagonists, so it felt like a bit of a cop out, but then again I also have no idea how else they could spin it to cause the events that happen in the past. Maybe I just do not understand the demand for antiques, haha. The emotion was emoting lol never expected to tear up for this drama but there were multiple memorable moments that truly touched me. And that ending! A beautiful full circle moment. Needless to say, the time travel conundrums were decently fleshed out, where changes to the timeline and how they were addressed made logical sense, so at least the story did not seem overly far fetched.
It could take a while to get immersed in the story, but once you are hooked, it's well worth the ride.

Good watch
Honestly I started watching the drama for Zhang MiaoYi, but she doesn’t have much of a role. The drama would have been much better with a tighter storytelling and focusing more on collecting the artefacts instead of gimmicks. Could have easily done away with 10-11 episodes. But overall a refreshing story and good watch.

I loved the main leads
Things I loved1 The main leads. both were great in their role and I loved their relationship and how it evolved. They're both good actors and managed to sell their story well.
2 The ending. It wasn't perfect but satisfactory enough.
Things I disliked
1 The FL, but this is a constant for me now. I can't take her seriously for some reason, no matter the role she plays.
2 The lack of romance. I know it's not a romance drama but I always need romance in my series.
