Good Sequel (but not as interesting as the prequel)!

I love horrors and watch every type of horror movies.

Loved prequel (first movie in this Franchise) and so I was excited to watch this.

***
Just like the prequel, this is not a scary or a disturbing one, just an easy-going one without jump scares.

The story of the first movie continues here and like the prequel, this is a serious horror where you find the family still struggling to ward off the evil spirit, possessing the members in the family.

The eldest brother continues his search for ways to save his possessed family members n goes to any extent to protect his family.

***
Story and Direction are Ok.

Cinematography is Very Good.

The Haunting scenes are Good.

***
The first half of this movie -- the adventures of the eldest brother along with another team continues -- search for ways to ward off the ghost -- this part is Ok and didn't capture my interest much. It's boring at times.
But some scenes here, like the ghost creating hallucinations n confusing the search team, are Good 👍🏻

Second half of the movie is more interesting to watch 👍🏻
The ghost possesses different members of the family.
The brothers n the remaining family members really struggle to protect themselves from the evil spirit.
Here, The hallucinations that are created by the ghost, give an eerie vibe and all such scenes are Good.

Overall, this movie is Ok, didn't impress me much :/
(First movie is Very Good, compared to this n somehow, this movie didn't meet that expectation)

(Maybe, seeing all the handsome brothers in the family n to get their constant attention, the ghost continued troubling the sisters n mother. Just Joking! :) )

***
My Rating is 7.5 /10
One time watch!

***
In this Franchise, loved the first movie. It's more interesting than the second one.
Waiting for third movie.

Why was it 4 different movies in one?

I might be biased (probably am) since I really enjoyed the first Death Whisperer, but this was just so all over the place I found it hard to focus on any plotline. It truly felt like 4 different movies put into one:
Ghoul man story.
Yak ghost hunter story.
The family still being haunted as they try to move on from all that happened in the first movie.
The Dad 2.0, Asshole and Coward family trio.

And realistically speaking, the only 2 parts I cared about were Yak and his family. Everything else seemed like an unnecessary convoluted way to make the movie longer than needed. The whole part of the woods with the new set of characters was boring, because these characters were simply awful to watch.

Sure the gore and how characters died was just as "fun" as in the first movie, but way less impactful on the emotional side. I kind of wanted a lot of these people to die there...

The acting was good for the most part. Nadech Kugimiya plays such a fun and cheeky character I would not mind a whole drama of his character going on ghost hunting trips Winchesters style.

Overall, this could have worked, maybe as a short series. Too many things happened in too short of a period of screentime.

A sequel that messed up a non-existent story

I watched this literally immediately after watching the first movie, and if you've read my review for that one, you may recall that I'm watching them to scare myself more. And that I wasn't quite satisfied with the story aspect of the movie. Well let me pivot! Because I didn't know having a story could disappoint me this much.

As far as the scare factor goes - this was okay. A few good jumpscares, if you watch it with the volume up, definitely very scary. And once again, too much gore for me (why?), but not the scariest thing out there.

The story - too bad because there's too much and not enough at the same time! All I wanted was an ounce of explanation, but this was absolutely nothing. It was like watching two different movies and I only liked one.

The first half of the movie is a cross between horror and adventure with Yak venturing into a haunted forest to battle his ghosts, and I mean that literally. It felt like a way for them to just inflict a bunch of on-screen hauntings and killings for the sake of the shock factor but.. it didn't do the intended job. Because to be shocking, you need some emotional connection to the characters and all of the new characters were people who were on-screen for a combined screentime of maybe half an hour. This was the backstory that I so desperately wanted after the first movie, but it went off on an unknown tangent, introducing new characters and not providing context for old ones. And the worst part? It had almost no connection to the second half.

The second half was much better. I would've preferred this be the entire movie because it focused on the family and their struggle not only with the evil spirit but their past experience. It had great flow, the characterization actually felt on point, too bad it lasted around 45 minutes in total. Because again, I know this is based on a novel, based on real events, but I think when you're making a movie you can tell those events in a more coherent manner? It was such a strange and fragmented experience, going from a really almost unnecessary and boring first half to a good second half.

This was okay. I think the first one was much better and I don't know what the story will be in movie three, but this was just okay.

Sweet family ever in horror story

Some people maybe felt confused in the part 1 movie, why wasn't the ghost woman died? Well, the answer is here. Yak appears again as our superhero, the big brother that seeks justice for his deceased sister Yam. He risked everything to kill the Puang (the ghost woman). There are some unexpected helps came thru Yak's way (and i recommend you to watch it yourself!)

Ever since the first movie (and this one also), what I love the most is the family's chemistry. They've been wanting to fight Puang for so long, even the father kept his eye wide open if she ever come back again. The plot is good. Fine movie you would enjoy (i mean... Nadech... how would you ignore the diva). If u ask me does it scare you... I'd say not really. I'm an average horror enjoyer so you can't ask me if this made me scared or not bc my standard might be different from yours. But overall, if u watched the first movie, you won't regret watching this one. I still think this needs the third movie, tho. That's it!

A truly impressive and satisftying sequel | Great family dynamics | Topless Nadech is on FIRE!

"You fucked with the wrong family, you goddamn ghost." - Yak

They will really do everything to make the ML/Nadech shirtless won't they? and this time with a bandage which makes him more hotter and oozing! Gotta give it to whoever proposed this as it works big time. Hahaha! He's one of the main selling point of this movie, I swear!!

Anyways, moving to the story itself. I wanna say that I am extremely satisfied with this sequel as it gave us more lore about Phuang (Dark Spirit) that's been haunting them and because we got more action from Yak and the whole family. I am actually quite glad that they finally utilized the potential of the other family members instead of treating them as an offering waiting for their demise.

In regards to the scare factor...they did great in giving us some creepy and thrilling scenes that can make most people frightened. I also want to personally thank the director and the writer for reducing those sequences where they try to forcefully make the scenes extra scary by adding some ridiculous skits which spoiled the prequel and made it less scary.

Additionally, the story is compact and highly comprehensible...so I am not sure where are some people getting their idea/opinion about this story being 4 stories in 1. They must have not watched the 1st part...so if you are planning to watch this, please make sure to watch the prequel first in order to avoid confusion and in order to fully understand the story and overall emotion of the characters.

Lastly, the family dynamics is still one of the best factor about this show. I love how the father truly stands as the pillar of the family by guarding them every night even when he tries to shrug the idea off to ease his family's worries and of course, Yak for continuously hunting the Dark spirit to make sure that it can never hurt his family again.

Story - 10, This sequel gave me the lore that I was looking for which was left untold on the prequel. It was also broadened and explained even better. The scenes are nicely put up as well which makes it easier to watch.

Acting/Cast - 10, One of the best thing about this show is their set of actors/actresses. Nadech did great as the main actor, as well as Denise (Yad) and Nina (Yee) as supporting roles. I was happy to see both Mean and Frank here, but their roles are meh. lol

Music - 10, I like all the sound effects and as I mentioned on my review on the prequel, the whispering sound effect was executed very well.

Rewatch Value - 10, one of those movie I can and will surely consider watching again if time permits me to do so.

Overall - 10, I am highly satisfied about this movie. I have nothing bad to say and I don't have anything I was displeased about it as well. I really appreciate that they didn't butcher this one. Overall an impressive continuation of the prelude.
