Feel good drama

My first ever review.
This drama is definitely targeted toward mature audiences, or seinen if you prefer.
While the story itself is so so, the focus of each episodes is definitely the food. They do looks good!
The story is in my assumption something more close to japanese, about omiai then marriage. About a closed man with awkward aloof woman trying to be a married couple.
The cast is okay, nothing crazy. I quite annoyed by the male lead, especially when he's being excited about cooking, the way he talked is just annoying for me. I think it's not about the actor himself, since there's moments where he's not acting like that toward the end of the series, where he's more natural, and his acting pretty good. Maybe it's just what the director wanted him to do. The female lead was okay also, she's pretty. Though with her character being aloof, there's hard to really judge, as she's not acting exaggerated like when the male lead excited about cooking, she's mostly natural, though I can't really say she's good or bad.
The music is pretty good, nothing crazy.
While it's good series to watch, especially if you're just looking for another thing to watch, I don't think I'll rewatch this, as there's not any points that really compelled me to rewatch.

Lots of Deliciously-grilled food and a simple role reversal long-distance marriage.

“How to Grill Our Love” aka “Yaiteru Futari: Kosai 0-Nichi Kekkon kara Koi wo Hajimeyo” is a simple and adorable slice-of-life drama of an interesting marriage. Our leads met online and dove right into marriage without actually dating. Not only was this a lightning-fast marriage but a long distance one! They could only see each other on the weekend.

These weekends are filled with deliciously-grilled food, awkward adorableness and honest communication. I think 50% of the screen time is spent on the leads eating and cooking. The other 50% is of them getting to know each other, navigating the challenges of a long-distance relationship and getting used to spending time being together learning each other’s personality traits (good and bad).

It also seems like the leads have their roles reversed. ML is the more emotional and clingy one in the relationship, who loves to cook and overthinks. FL is the calmer, cooler and more rational partner, who is also not afraid to speak her mind to set things straight, or ask for a hug or kiss. I wouldn’t say ML is my type of guy, but it works for FL. The acting is decent, and very typical Japanese manga over-the-top acting on the ML part. But that is to be expected.

This simple drama also has a lovely supporting cast. Everyone is caring and sweet, and roots for our leads relationship. If you are looking for a simple and easy watch, and learn how to grill delicious food, then "How to Grill Our Love'. Otherwise, this might not be exciting enough for many.

Very unrealistic and biologically impossible.

Story-wise, nothing needs to be said as it is just another cliché Japanese no dating marriage trope where each episode shows the development of the couple. However, what I really noticed is how unrealistic this drama really is. It is impossible for them to eat that much food and not get fat.

Was I able to clickbait with that headline? Lol. Anyways, the leads played their roles very well, even Matsumura Sayuri who is not known for being a great actress, played her role perfectly. It's a very fluffy drama filled with 50% food and 50% romance. It's not a drama that you'd enthusiastically anticipate watching but it is good especially as a means of lightening up your mood or to spend 24 minutes of your day with. Overall a good watch, nothing out of ordinary but also not within the realm of mediocrity.
