Scary 36 Episodes, but the makers didn't mess it up (more like a 8 or 8.25 tho)
I dread when I am starting a series which is 20 episodes long (the only reasoon I almost start Vincenzo but quickly switch to a 12 episode series).. so I was highly skeptic while starting this series. I started it because of the short where the blind FL decide to sleep with ML early on (both cos the scene was really touching and because this perticular disease runs in my family genes) and I had all the intention of leaving it in the middle if it felt draggy.But I am happy that it did not !!! 36 episodes didn't feel too long thanks to the balanced story and it's pacing. The actors did a good job keeping us engaged and I throughly enjoy the show. The reason I gave it a 8.5 is because of my bias i.e. it did not felt draggy with a long runtime (which I absolutely dislike) and cos it hit close to my heart (due to my family history).
Response to some criticisms
- Too much focus on the money - I found this point to be stupid honestly..the whole story does revolve around money, AS IT SHOULD !!! Finding such large amount by a poor family will be their main concern, we can't just forget the anxiety and focus on romance etc (even tho I found enough of romance as well as drama in it)
- Long run time- Yes, but since it was well paced, I didn't bother me (also easily finding it on YouTube helped as well)
- The SitCom like direction- At some points it did bother me, but not too much. Cos we are used to Netflix like directions, we tend to be less open to other experiments
So overall, found it to be a good drama. Don't overthink, just start watching it !

What are you willing to do for a large sum of money?
PLOT:FL = daughter of a poor family of dry cleaners, almost blind, ML = stepson of a large corporation president, grandson of a loan shark magnate.
FL sleeps with ML, a college classmate, to experiment it before losing her sight. Years later, FL's family accidentally discovers a huge sum of (dirty) money stolen from ML's mother. They take advantage of this to cure FL's blindness, and hide the rest under their grandparents' mattress. Everyone will gradually be corrupted by this money... The President's abandoned son, taken in by FL's family, finds his place with his father after this one fires ML and his mother (his ex-wife).

+++ A dark, caustic comedy, dealing with human greed (the ML's mother is a terrible example).
### Series with some lengths (especially the middle)
=> Good series, more family-oriented than romantic (even though there are two romances), quite caustic.

PLOT:
FL = fille d'1 famille pauvre de teinturiers, presque aveugle,ML = fils adoptif d'1 Président de gd groupe, petit fils d'1 magnat des prêts usuraires.
La FL couche avec le ML, camarade de fac, pr expérimenter avant de perdre la vue. Des années + tard, la famille de la FL découvre par hasard, une énorme somme d'argent (sale), volée à la mère du ML. Ils en profitent pr faire opérer la FL, et cache le reste ss le matelas des gds-parents. Chacun va peu à peu se faire corrompre par cet argent ... Le fils abandonné du Président, accueilli par la famille de la FL, retrouve sa place auprès de son père après que celui-ci ait viré le ML et sa mère (son ex femme).
+++ Bcp de très bons acteurs
+++ Réalis° vive / OSTs qui donnent le ton :)
+++ Comédie grinçante, caustique, traitant de la cupidité humaine (la mère du ML en est un exemple terrible).
### Série avec qq longueurs (surtt le milieu)
=> Bonne série, familiale plus que romantique (même s'il y a 2 romances), assez caustique.

Iron chaotic family
VERY MINOR SPOILERSSo… how to say it…
There were good things… and a LOT of bad things.
There were very good episodes where it didn’t feel like a typical KBS weekend drama, mostly in the second half. BUT seriously, the characters were sometimes so dumb, not noticing OBVIOUS THINGS and apologizing for ANYTHING. They were all miserable, no exceptions.
The script really lowered the ranking of the drama. Every set was good, like the street in a studio or even the shots that removed the weekend drama aspect, but the story was so poor, and some episodes were boring. The mothers of both the ML and the FL were horrible to watch.
AND WHY THIS HAIRCUT FOR DA RIM IN THE FIRST 30 EPISODES?! Fortunately, they changed it for the last episodes.
All the siblings looked so great in their younger versions… The Seogang Apparel arc was the most fun to watch, and there was finally some hype in this drama, but it quickly evaporated because of Mu Rim’s mother-in-law. YES, AGAIN, A MOTHER!! No, but seriously, can’t we have some peace? It’s not because it’s "only" 36 episodes that we can’t have at least one good episode without bad writing and with an intelligent character.
Not the worst weekend drama, but not the best…

A GOOD TIMEPASS SHOW
I think the story line is actually very good there are soo many emotions Depicted in the Drama Funny,Sad,Romantic vibes as well as some Drama. Give this a Look as an Tv Show / Serial and less as in a Typical Kdrama I actually enjoy watching it while eating 👍I think the main Characters and the Family Have a Very important Role in this show and the side characters don't have much of an Significance which is a Down point

A RANT
This is a 3 am rant after trying to continue this for the past 3 days but i decided for my sanity i need to give up.There is so much i want to say but i don't have the energy for it and the more i think of this shows the more irritated i get but First why the heck is a basic romance drama wit no subplot has 36 episode??? CRIMINAL
Second, why is the main lead is so pathetic i am so glad the other guy is ignoring him, i would've thrown you outside and lock the door because why are you all up in my business go ask your father those stupid unnecessary question.
I understand this is sudden but you knew about it days before and did not have the simple ability to use your head to get prepared and also think that your that your father would double check and confirms the truth. Plus he is throwing up a tantrum nearly every freaking episode like jeez you are over 30 stop whining the other person is just also had life altering news.
There is truly no reason to be doing all that plus all your mom do is cause chaos. It was funny the first few episode as i believe there is something deeper going on from the way she is acting( loneliness, having emotional support, her son future in regard to how the outside world view them) but still after 18 episode i expect character development wether in a good or bad way which we have nothing so far.
The drama lack depth and a sense of were it wants to go. A lot of important things happened and got resolved in the first 8-10 episode that i feel like they are just dragging it on when everything could've wrapped up in 12 -14 Pp max. i also have a gripe with the main lead acting, he does not show much range and every drama that he is in fells like the same expression .
I truly wish the main couple would not ended up together but sadly this is a romance and Tae-joon please do not forgive and be with hye-ji you deserve so much better.
Anyway, i am going to stop now because this is getting longer that i thought. If you finished the drama please spoil the ending for me thank you

Oh man I like my weekend dramas and with Kim Jung Hyun as one of the leads I was seated from week one... but this wasn't it. Every single character either is or becomes unbearable throughout the story, even Kang Ju, who is arguably the nicest and most well-intended person of the bunch becomes infuriating to watch since those qualities eventually lead him to be everyone's punching bag (even literally lol). The grandparents, the mom and the aunt are so greedy about money which isn't theirs and feel entitled to it, but the punishment is going to jail for 1 year (the aunt doesn't even receive any sort of punishment)??? That's all that they got??? Which brings me to the mother in law, Mu Rim and his wife: annoying af (I know she's doing her job but come on she kept digging because she couldn't fathom being mistaken about the mom), lifeless background character number 1 and pretty background character number 2. And don't get me started with Kang Ju's side!!!! HIS MOM????? Ok, the money is hers but 1) it's stolen money 2) she didn't get enough flack for trying to evade taxes and 3) she left his son to get beaten in the street in order to save it???? and his dad isn't any better because as soon as his biological son showed up it was as if he had never existed, like wtf??? Tae Woong and Cha Rim were also soooo insufferable!!! They truly deserve each other. At first I could see how Cha Rim was hurt because she was neglected by her mother but she was rude towards everyone and a gold digger. And Da Rim is so meh I don't have much to say about her.The money storyline could've been good if it had been done in fewer episodes, I don't think it was a good fit as the overarching plot. The romance between Kang Ju and Da Rim was also quite lack luster, it's like he's interested in her since the beginning but she likes Tae Woong (blegh), he starts helping her and wow she's in love!!! Plus I don't think there was much chemistry between them... but really, besides the grandparents these people didn't have it.
Anyways, this was quite frankly the most frustrating drama I've ever seen, and I'm stupid for forcing myself to finish it!!!

Surprised me.
I can not believe I actually finished 36 episodes kdrama without getting bored or thinking that this story is nonsense. Usually even shorter dramas lose me midway. I could never predict what will happen next episode and there were very few stereotypical kdrama events. Characters by and large behaved as you would expect them to behave as per their initial personality shown and did not suddenly do random things as per needs of story. There was character growth but again not easily but slowly in a way that makes sense.Was this review helpful to you?
Worth it
This series is one of the only series with more than 12-16 episodes i have watched, that being said it was funny and made me smile and cry at times, the acting was so on point, and i found myself wanting to watch more series with the same actors. The story line was well thought up and i am glad i watched all the episodes. I somehow found myself waiting every week just for the new episodes to premiere. This is one of the best in family drama series, If possible i want to give 100 star for this one , One of the best family drama i have watched.Every episode make me curious about what happened next one😇.
If you like family drama series you will definitely love this drama. All the characters in this drama done wery well.
Iam at middle waiting for next week to see the 2 episodes. Hope it ends well too.

The Ost ✅ , the characters ✅, cinematography ✅ almost everything is perfect at least for the episodes dropped so far. Honestly am the happiest person to witness episode 8 . I’m so happy right now that I decided to drop this review. Please if you are reading this, don’t hesitate to hop on it. I just hope this movie gets to those who need it and not the other way around. I’m only sad that it’s ending next year but I will keep on going with the drama till it ends ❤️

Christmas love story <3
Perfect for college freshmen... not to mention the female lead (personally) looks like Hanni TvT🎅🤶🎄🐰🐇Other than that, the only downside would be the depht of the side plots, could be more juicies (already interesting but can be more spiced up)🔥🔥
Unfortunately they missed the chance to sync the actual date irl and the date in the story, it'd've been a nice gift for this new year

Not bad for a 36 episode drama! Better than some brainrot I have seen recently.
I like how even when things were not logical this drama tried to keep things interesting.All over we had flawed characters, a plot centered around money that kept changing hands, a little bit of a major lunatic falling in love with a mild lunatic, and then come the family problems. Although it tried my patience a little, it does have some rewatch value for me. I don't know why I liked the leads so much, but they were entertaining.
Even though I liked the Seo Gang Ju and Lee Da Rim ending up together, I was hoping the writer had utilized the chemistry between Da Rim and Tae Hung a bit better. Why give us those moments on rooftops where they both seemed pretty cozy if they were just going to treat it as afterthought. This was one love triangle I wanted to play out well.
I am not a fan of the ML's parents, the father is deadbeat, he is also a crappy husband but then his wife isn't any better.
Ko Bong Hui [Da Rim's mother]: A better mother to Darim than she was to her other kids. As much as I don't like Charim and Murim, it is easy to understand where they are coming from. They could have had better attitudes when their mother was running around desperate for money, they could have all sat down and discussed this like adults.
