Leap Day Episode 10 Reactions
🌙
So... it has been a while. However, I am committed to finishing these reviews no matter if no one is reading them since it is fun for me, but I appreciate anyone who is reading this. By the way, I already have watched all the episodes, so I am not going to do predictions for the next episode since I know what will happen.
However, I will still talk about my predictions from the last episode and the theories, so lets get into it!
Here are the predictions from last episode:
~ Kit's Dark Side: I really have low faith in Kit lol. I was correct that he did suggest something dangerous to Ozone, but he also did to Dream too. Even though I was right in that, I thought the plan would be more evil and he would force them to do it behind Day & Night's back. I was wrong about the reasoning as I thought it would make Ozone hear the stars longer or have more visions rather than cheat the curse.
~ Someone (Night?) Is Hurt: I am glad that I was correct about Night. However, I didn't guess why he was on the hospital bed. I would never guessed that they would stop his heart on purpose. I thought he got into an accident. I am guessing this scene was what Ozone predicted in Night's death, even though it was temporary.
~ Night Switching Sides: I am also glad that Night didn't messed up the delivery, but rather freaked out at the beginning and left before he did anything. A few reviews ago, I did said he would most likely be in the "evil" side for around 2 or 3 episodes, so it is good he didn't stay long. I never thought Wiwat would commit suicide, so I am glad that Day found him.
~ 3:03 PM: How in the world did I read the clock wrong?! LOL I didn't even noticed the creases until they pointed it out. I thought the direction of the stars tell the time. Also, it is 12:15PM rather than 3:03PM. I mixed up the minute hand with the hour hand. At least, I was correct on what it means, so there is that.
There is a lot of plot movements in this episode with Wiwat & Night joining the gang, Kit's idea, and some team building moments. Unlike some episodes where I found the plot to be a bit empty, I didn't find this one to be like that. It wasn't full of plot, but wasn't full of fluff. I really enjoyed the note that Wiwat's daughter (Deer (I think)) left for her father and Dream & Night making up and I enjoyed the angst like the interaction they had with Wiwat's family. This episode surprised me as I did not expect Kit's plan and Wiwat's suicide attempt. I did not agree on calling him out to his family since that is not a good move if you want him to help you, but it is understandable for Kit & Day to be angry with what the professor has done to them. What is not understandable is Kit's plan. His plan is to stop Dream & Ozone's heart, for the purpose of tricking the curse to think they are dead. This would not work since they were momentarily dead in the 2020 incident. but survived due to Day & Night meeting (assuming that is true since the show never directly explained why they survived). Even though they are alive, the curse was at them for months after it knew they survived. It is a plot hole since the writers don't make the characters acknowledge what happened in 2020.
Moving onto the acting & techniques!
I do not have much to say about the techniques since I have no complaints. I like the editing and the camerawork when Dream realized what Ozone's picture meant and Ozone's vision. As for the acting, everyone did great as always. Gandhi really shines here since the second half of the episode focuses on him and the turmoil between him & his family. The actor really nailed the scary presence. Pod is really making me feel bad for Kit, so I am happy that his character is getting the social interactions he needed. The scene with Dream & Night making up is so touching. Pahn & Dew's chemistry gives me warm feelings. I said this often, but Pond does a great job in showcasing Day's repressed anger, which goes in well with Day's protectiveness over Ozone. I can see the look of not letting Ozone go through this dangerous task while slowly realizing he has no other choice on his face. Gun is killing it, as always.
Theory Time!
Another episode, another time I am confused on the year I am in. I will mention all of my complaints about the time skip and the fact that it is already 2023 in my review of the final episode. Since I have watched all of the episodes already, I am not going to make any theories about time like I did in the earlier episodes when I was confused about the time stamp.
As mentioned before, I couldn't wait and I watched the entire show, but I will pretend I haven't while doing the theories.
My 2008 theory of either Wiwat or Kit being the shooter is still up. However, past me is starting to not believe in it too much since I am slowly starting to fully trust Kit.
Now that I am fully caught up, I understand the drawing much better, so I will tell you what I saw. Since the drawing has two creases, representing 12:15PM, it separates the drawing into two parts. The smallest part has only 1 blue star in it that is separated from the rest. The largest part has all of the other stars in it, but it has two sides. Three of the blue stars are on the left side and both yellow stars are on the right side. I will mention this in my review for the last episode, but it is so cool that I am seeing the foreshadowing of the drawing.
Favorite Scene: Day's reaction to Wiwat's attempt (his reaction was so funny) & Kit explaining his plan to everyone (loving the acting of Pond & Gun)
I gave this episode an 8.75 out of 10, but I rounded it up to a 9. The rating was the same for last episode, but I rounded it down to an 8.5 because I expected more from last episode. I didn't expect a lot from this episode due to the third to last episode tends to be slow (in a good way) to build up to the end. Plus, I had no complaints for this one, even though they still didn't cleared up the plot holes or address the information gaps.
I wonder what episode 11 (the cursed episode) has in store for us!
P.S. I do know what the episode has in store lol
P.S.S. During the CPR scene, I did saw a shot of Kit doing CPR to the table lol I am not picky with medical scenes on a non-medical show since you can't do CPR on an alive person, so you can only do so much with hiding camera angles.
P.S.S.S. I might take a while for episode 11, but it will come.
