Still offers something new after all these years of watching action movies

I was in a joyless mood and looking for something cool without requiring thought: if I would guess a team coming together, some training, gadgets, the usual spy fantasy, under a great mentor. While the intention was cognitive suspension, I suddenly found myself sitting up just to properly watch The Shadow.

I also assumed my interest was primarily for Jackie Chan, but the title turned out to be surprisingly accurate. The Shadow really is the point: unnerving, intriguing. The story itself is as straightforward as it gets and can feel predictable, but the action alone justifies the experience. There aren't many movies now that I imagine would be enjoyable in a theater, and in this economy? This one leaves a sense of longing for the big screen.

exceeded expectations!!

I went in to watch the movie on a friday night after work partially to support Jun (being a carat) and also i really enjoy action movies and it has THE JACKIE CHAN. However, I didnt have much expectations plot and directing wise.. BUT wow they shot down all my concerns in the first 5mins itself.

The introduction of the 2 teams were done so well. Throughout the movie both sides had their moments to shine. It was not a movie where one side is always lacking behind the other or isnt smart enough. Usually in these movies they always make it like the police are incompetent but wow in this the strategy play was done so well.

The villains had their moment to shine and at the same time even the good guys did. The acting was amazing by everyone especially the 2 veteran actors. Their stunts and actions scenes were so clean and crisp it was really satisfying to watch.

Although Jun's role was not very big but there was this intense fight scene with jackie chan and the fight choreography was amazing for that scene. Really kept me on my edge

Honestly, there isnt much plot, its really a story of strategic play between 2 strong experienced leaders. The movie directing was good, pacing was good as well and i liked the small comedic elements thrown occasionally.

Overall it was really a good watch. I would recommend it as well!

Muito tiro, porrada e bomba

Marcado por uma grande nostalgia da minha parte, talvez os elogios que vão sair daqui possam parecer suspeitos, já que faço parte da grande parcela de pessoas que cresceu assistindo filmes do Jackie Chan pela televisão.

Trazendo a essência dos filmes de ação populares na década de 90, o diretor e roteirista, Yang Zi, mostra o trabalho da polícia de Macau atrás de um grupo de bandidos que conseguem fugir sem deixar rastro nas câmeras de segurança, como um antigo que criminoso que desapareceu a muito tempo, para essa missão um veterano já aposentado é chamado de volta para montar uma operação para pegar os criminosos.

Com cenas de lutas com coreografias espetaculares, Jackie aqui continua fazendo o que sempre fez de melhor, se alguém disser que esse homem que está na casa dos 70 não faz mais cenas como antes, vá ver esse filme agora, ele que dispensou dublê durante toda sua vida não fez diferente aqui, deu o seu melhor e entregou as lutas visualmente bonitas.

Como resultado, the shadow's edge, que vem com um elenco de peso, é carregado de ação, investigação e muita luta, que te faz ficar preso até o último segundo das cenas pós- créditos (e não estou dizendo sobre as clássicas cenas de erro de gravação).
