an absolutely devastating must-watch
I remember when spaceless came out a few months ago and I didn't watch it, but now that 4 minutes is almost over, I figured I would. And holy shit.I am so glad that I skipped it when it came out during pride month cause it is an absolute masterpiece of an emotional hate crime 😭
Anyone who thinks Jes and Bible don't have chemistry is a fucking idiot, they are perfect! The scene by the water is literally devastating and they both played it so well. It's so sad, but so beautiful.
Bible was the standout for me, just the utter devastation on his face in most scenes, and then the end, the soft smile after Tul tells Garn that he named his daughter after him.
The story itself is just so devastating (I know I keep using that word, but it's the most fitting) because Garn was willing to suffer just so that he could still have Tul in his life. And I don't blame Tul entirely for the way he treated Garn, but I do hate him just a little bit for knowing how Garn felt and lowkey leading him on. But props for being honest and telling him that it was never gonna happen. It's still sad tho because it almost feels like Garn died of a broken heart 😭

HATE THE PREMISE, LOVE BIBLE
I'm in a fix, kinda.I watched this, twice. Just to be sure of my opinion, which is - Bible's character dies and I will not have it this way.
I've got some other reasonable points to make as well, just hear me out:
First off, that wasnt being stupid, that was pure and simple internalised homophobia which isn't a very good look on anybody but more so on a Thai BL actor.
Secondly, he has the b@lls on him to say that he loves this dude and goes ahead to marry a woman, have a kid with her in a year - disgusting move cause sooner or later it's gonna come out and ruining another human being's life cause you are too ashamed of yourself isn't some act of bravery. It's pure and simple cowardly behaviour. That too in the 21st century, "it's impossible" isn't an excuse.
And lastly, just because he named his kid after the guy he mildly liked for about 9 years or so and pretended to not like, doesn't wash away the first 2 points.
Hence, I absolutely hate the premise of the film to begin with. Apart from that, their acting is quite alright, separately. Of course, I have my own biases about Bible being paired up with someone other than Build but clearly they had a better chemistry than whatever this was (it's purely my opinion).
Let's see what 4 Minutes has to offer. I hope it's as good as the plot, trailer and video poster was.

I really felt the emotions the they felt. Garn not the one to speak his feelings out loud and yet his simple words and glances given.
Tul wanting a family that he loves but we know deep down he loves Garn but not as powerful as Garn or maybe he was scared to pursue what his heart told him.
This shows reality for some people who ends up in a different pathway

Better than most BL series out there
20 minutes of short film can make you feel too much if it's written well, and this film was the perfect example of it. The storyline is heartbreaking yet beautiful because of its realistic essence. "The screen is the only place where you allow me to love you." This quote by the character played by Bible really hit hard. Garn loves Tul as a lover, for a long time, but Tul wants something else. He just wants a normal family, a normal kid, a normal life. He doesn't love Garn as a lover; his love for him isn't in a romantic way, and that's slowly eating Garn up. Knowing that the other person will never love you in a romantic way but still being with them for years is a true type of heartbreaking horror, like it's even worse than a normal heartbreak and being lonely. "I can love your daughter as well." Gosh, this quote even makes everything worse but it's adorable at the same time. For all the years he continued to love Tul, and now when Tul finally got what he always wanted (a family), Garn even decided to love his daughter as he watches his happiness from a distance. He was happy for him, but he wasn't happy with him.At the end, he died with the same love for Tul, the same hopeless, unrequited love, and Tul decided to name his daughter after Garn to always have his memory. Heart-wrenching.The script was good, the acting was effortless, and the chemistry was nice.
To be honest, I kind of wish it were a series because I felt some parts of the story needed to have a spotlight, for example, exploring their relationship in depth and so on. Overall, it was a good and definitely well-acted short film.

*Sob sob* I'm not crying . . . you are!
When I was first reading the comments to decide whether or not to watch this, all of them were somewhere along the lines of, "oh my freaking god, I haven't cried so much since I found out that my boyfriend cheated on me with that one hot bartender that I used to have a crush on like a year ago." Okay, not really, but you get the point. So I was like, it cant be that sad right? So I went out and found the movie on youtube and watched it. I first discovered Bible around a year ago when I binge watched kinnporsche on my couch with my cat. And, just like then, I was amazed with his acting. The way he showed all of his emotions was BEAUTIFUL. His performance was so moving, and if you came up to me and said what happened in the film was real, I would believe you.
The film is short but filled with so many emotions that even full-length dramas can't compare. I was surprised by how perfectly it was delivered. Their relationship was realistic in a melodramatic way and even though the story is simple, their acting gave it so much depth.
