RSB (Rong Shan Bao—FL) propositions LJL (Lu Jiang Lai, aka Lord Lu, aka Fusheng—ML) with a scheme ultimately designed to keep Cousin Wen safe. He rejects her, but counteroffers by proposing a more-blatantly obvious means to appear as her favored one. He asks what’s in it for him. She promises to find out who tried to kill him and offers him complete protection. He starts openly flirting with her which stirs up deadly jealousy amongst amongst the suitors.
