1Alien, meets E.T., meets Resident Evil, meets Star Wars with Mad Max aesthetics at the end.
The creature is obviously alien coded, but also has a bond and a finger touching moment with Jamie - E.T. like style. One of the cops is called Leon, you cannot tell me it's not Resident Evil coded, when the bioengeniring-focused powerful corporation wants the alien for experiments. Male lead at some point fights the alien with a freaking light saber. And we have nano-slugs that help with mental health issues, somehow... by going into brain through ear? I have no idea what I just saw. I had a lot of fun though.This is literally the perfect bad quality - so bad you just end up entertained on levels never imagined. The stereotypical dumb US cops? Checked. The nerdy male lead with traumatic past? Checked. The badass female lead to save everyone? Checked. The dumbass profit driven villain? Checked. Awful CGI? Checked. Cool space shots? Checked. Awkward acting? Checked. What more can girl ask for?
Honestly, directing was not bad for the limited budget, but the writing was a choice for sure.
Perfect watch for bad horror movies enthusiast.
