The First Night with the Duke Episode 1 Reactions
one of my favorite web novels is Miss Not-So Sidekick, so i was hoping this was along the same lines (as i haven't read the web-novel this has been adapted from) & i wish i could say this was hilarious & i loved the MC from the get-go. i didn't - she is too in her head, too skittish & cowardly - which makes it hard for me to really love her. but thankfully towards the end she did (kinda) stand-up to the main mean-girl = Hwa Seon. so i am hoping this will get better - or rather she (Seon Chaek) will get better/ more likeable. otherwise won't last a few ep's let alone reach the end.

I actually really like the idea of changing the setting to ancient Joseon. It gives the drama a fresh feel and makes it feel like an actual adaptation, instead of just a straight-up boring copy. Some parts are feeling weird to me, though. Especially the whole dynamic between the main character and one of the evil ladies (I don’t remember anybody’s name yet… yes, I am that person.) The MC is portrayed as such a silly, carefree, and fearless person in the webcomic, so seeing her be a bit more timid and aware of her surroundings feels off. I like how there seems to be something with her family, too. I like when stories are more than just boring romance and have characters outside of it, even if they’re as basic as siscon brothers. As the drama has already finished airing by the time I finally had the time to watch this, I’ve seen that the rating isn’t the highest so it is making me a bit wary. I hope it will stay as something I enjoy.

The cocktail part is the best. Additionally, this is the first time I've seen a drama where the reader complains about the novel and suddenly finds themselves in a supporting character's role, trying to defeat the enemy and match the main characters. But she will be the FL instead. hahahahahahahaha

although we dont see much of the ml here besides snippets, this episode was really well done. it was a great establisher for the series loaded with information on our MC, the novel aka the world she is now in as well as the characters within the novel. very well done and lots of nice shots as well! will be continuing! i love the editing as well, really makes you feel the source material!

The drama started off so perfectly 😻 All the actors are handsome and beautiful. I also really want to go to the universe of my favorite dramas/movies 😭😭😭😭 Cha Seon Chaek's family is weird and funny. I wonder what the villain Do Hwa Seon will do in the other episodes. Prince Gyeong Seong is so handsome 😻 I'm shipping Jung Su Gyeom and Cho Eun Ae. Cha Seon Chaek, who thought she was a supporting character, was supposedly not going to stand out 😭😭😭😭 I got so excited in the last scene 😻😭😭😭
