Saji Hideo , who worked at a police station in the suburbs of Tokyo, retired ten years ago and still lives in the same neighborhood. One day, a detective named Kitamine Ayumi visits Saji to ask about a murder that occurred in the neighborhood. The victim of the case was a man whom Saji had once arrested for stalking a young woman. After serving his sentence, he attacked the woman and injured her. Saji still deeply regrets not being more careful. As Kitamine continues his investigation into the case, he comes across evidence that suggests Saji is the culprit, and his suspicions grow that the honest-minded man may be the culprit. Realizing that he is suspected of being the murderer, Saji puts his pride as a former police officer on the line to prove his innocence, but at the same time, he begins to suspect that he may be the culprit.
