Transactional relationship with good camaraderie

I was in the mood for Wang Chen Peng's dramas after loving his recent drama with Bai Yan. This drama had been in my playlist since I also enjoy Li Ke Yi's acting. Overall I liked this drama.

What I liked:
1. Romance - It started off fake & transactional but I liked how it progressed into real romantic relationship. I liked that there was warmth from the start - FL & ML went into marriage of convenience without animosity.
2. FL's arc - She was daughter of a criminal & carried that stigma all her life. I liked how the arc was told. There was childhood connection between FL & ML.
3. ML's characterisation - I knew he had crush on her when he kept offering money for a task. However I didn't like ML forcing kiss on FL at the start of their relationship.
4. Supporting characters - I liked FL's friend & ML's assistant.
5. Acting - I liked the performance by Wang Chen Peng & Li Ke Yi. Good chemistry.

What I disliked:
1. Antagonist - ML's pursuer who was family friend and overstepped boundary. I also disliked ML's mother for disrespecting ML and FL.
2. Abuse - The abuse faced by FL was too much.

-Thing in the Palm(2024) is a splendid romance miniseries with Wang Chen Peng (as Qin Yu Chen) and Li Ke Yi (as Han Jing Ru) in the leading couple’s role. The cast did a very good job bringing their characters to life and the leading male was great displaying a wide range of emotions and creating a sensual aura when approaching the female lead which, once she realized that she was in love with the male lead, her facial expressions softened and she was nicely reciprocal to his feelings. Both main leads have strong characters and were straight and honest on their serious conversations. Overall, this series is quite entertaining, enjoy it!

In the meantime, this drama can be found in YouTube under the caption: “After the flash marriage, she realized that the president loved her from beginning to end” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAdmHNqClUw)
or “Late girl at a date—CEO isn’t mad, makes her sign, then she discovers he’s a top big shot!” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOPSBeAH170)

The version I saw didn't have their blind date

I'm not sure if other versions include their blind date, but here's the one I saw: https://youtu.be/5x0-jnbBAtA?si=imLJ-RL3vKAAmRVf which made the beginning a little confusing. From my understanding, ML pays her 3 million yuan for 3 months of marriage. She agrees in order to pay off her brother's gambling debts. Their agreement includes stipulations, which require penalties, extending the marriage by a month each time she breaks one. This backfires on him later.

He had approached her in such a underhanded way and often bullied her to get his way. I was not his biggest fan, so I'm glad he eventually started to change a little and became more honest. I think, because he approached her dishonestly, he projected negative attributes to her, that she's just money-hungry. It's true that she was desperate to help her brother, but she wanted to work for herself afterwards, never expecting to spend his money. After she had fallen for him and they slept together, he transferred 1 million yuan to her account as compensation. It was not something she asked for or expected. I felt like he did it to slap her in the face. Even though it was a HEA, there were so many problematic messages and actions throughout. And that family beating was extreme.
