clairebell the serie is something else , such a good production , excellent acting and amazing cast ; from the main couple's chemistry , to the 3D and their gang , even the villains , everybody did such a great job. strong script and plot that gets you hooked but what i liked the most is how realstic the serie is compared to other thai series that i watched. and a chef kiss for the last episode it kept me on my nerves but i had faith in thailand and i knew it wont be a doomed yuri (i would have died)

At its core, this is a character-driven series. Claire’s journey is shaped by trauma, survival, and sacrifice, and the writing consistently reinforces how prison has altered the course of her life. Her bond with Auntie Pa’Forn adds unexpected depth, and a surprising tenderness, revealing a gentler side of Claire early in the series, giving her emotional depth beyond the survival mode of that is the “Rabid Dog”.

Bell’s arc is quieter but no less important, shaped by straightforward honesty and emotional endurance. She has a strong sense of justice and moral clarity, responding with steadiness rather than impulse. Amazingly done!

“Claire and Bell meet in a place no one enters by choice: prison.”


Wow. This was my first fully focused Thai GL, and I watched it in one sitting because it was that good.


I was truly impressed and invested in the execution of the series! The production quality is outstanding. The long shots, the script, the intimacy, and the soundtrack are all so well-crafted that they draw the viewer in.


The plot is quite simple, mainly centred around the prison setting and the daily lives of the prisoners and prison guards. I thought the drama and suspense were effectively incorporated into the script. Key scenes, such as the reveal of Claire’s motive, Top’s betrayal, Bell’s feelings, Kae’s quest for vengeance, and Dao’s master plan, were all well-executed and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the drama.


Regarding the characters, I found Claire and Bell to be straightforward yet interesting. Both have clear arcs in the story, and Mable and Pangjie performed their roles incredibly well. The character that surprised me was Kae; Belle, the actress, had such expressive facial expressions that I was constantly questioning her true nature and the role she would play in relation to our main leads.


Overall, the execution of this drama was excellent. It’s honestly a must-watch!

Incredible: "Freedom Is Not A Coincidence", says the title of the last episode

This drama made me laugh and cry and ripped my heart out and danced on it, and it did so beautifully with a moon marriage and metaphors about freedom. HAPPY END FOR OUR LESBIAN MAIN COUPLE.

It's cinematic. It's queer, it's wlw, it's lesbian, women take the stage. The women in this drama come alive through great acts of selflessness, of love, of sacrifice, and exercising their power. The women come alive through breaking the law, raging for justice in a misogynistic world, being mean, using violence as a defense; we the viewers are left to support women's rights and women's wrongs. This show is about all of that, and as a treat the women can go a little insane. The acting is top, from the main cast to the small roles, everyone gives their best and makes this world and the characters come alive.

Content Warning: sexual assault /rape, a male university teacher exploits a female student and then it ends in that very traumatic rape scene. She then murders the guy with scissors, stabbing him 19 times.

This drama is also about violence. Gendered violence connects all the women's stories like a red string. The side couples are heterosexual. There is straight romance, straight love, straight misery; and straight abusive relationships, though they take the b stage next to the lesbian relationship at the center.

This drama is also about grief. Grief for lost family members and friends and death and all that. This drama is also about freedom. Bell is unjustly imprisoned, her freedom taken away at the hands of others. This drama is also about humanity. Imprisoned, do we hold on to humanity? Love makes us monsters, and the loss of freedom makes us desperate. And yet we try to water the roses just right, so that they can bloom. There is a cat. If we can, we feed. it.

The cinematography is brilliant, the soundtrack is so fucking awesome, and there's an instant noodle ad where our girl Bell prepares the noodles and then takes a bite as the house she set on fire burns behind her, like, HELLO. That's what I want to see!!!!!

It's fucking brilliant and if you have 8 hours to spare and feel ready for the trigger warnings and their themes, you'll have a great time. I promise.

Uncut

We're only four episodes in so it's obviously slightly premature to be writing a review, but I felt ClaireBell deserves it just in case anybody is on the fence whether to watch this series. And to be honest, seeing how good it's so far, I have hard time believing they could f- this up too much. 😅🤞

ClaireBell is really special, it's not just a phenomenal GL series, it's a phenomenal drama, period. The storytelling and acting is Hormones level good. The cinematography is up there with the best movies. The music is spot on awesome. The whole thing is obviously a labor of love from Davika and the awesome team she's gathered around her.

But, you really need to see the uncut version to appreciate it fully (available free on the OneD app/site). This version doesn't only have extended love scenes (even though there's that too 😅), each episode has 5-15 min of small extensions all over and even whole scenes that are completely missing from the TV/YouTube version that is limited to 45 min per episode. These additions do so much for the pacing that it almost makes the shorter version feel like the cliff notes recap in comparison.

Don't get me wrong, the TV/YouTube version is great if that's the only thing available to you. (Any ClaireBell is better than no ClaireBell after all. 😄) But since the uncut version is so easily accessible, I hope this will convince people that the extra effort is really worth it.

Addendum after completing the series:

ClaireBell didn't disappoint. It is unbelievably good, from beginning to end. The final episode is 1 hour and 15 min uncut, that's 30 min longer than the TV/YouTube cut (!). That's just ridiculous considering I wouldn't want to miss a single minute of it.
