Siangphleng and Wan Wanwiwa have grown up in the same household, but with different statuses—Phleng as the homeowner's child, and Wan as a worker. Despite their bond, Wan eventually tells Phleng she will have to marry. Phleng plans to find a good match for Wan, only to realize her own feelings for her. As their love deepens, Phleng loses her parents in a business failure and runs away, leaving only a love letter for Wan. When they meet again, Wan is engaged. GURL. HOLD MY DRINK.
Affair The Series is hands down the first GL that had me gripping my phone like it was a lifeline. I was HOOKED, gagged, and fully emotionally invested, but also… I wanted to personally square up with half the cast. The chaos? The toxicity? The sheer nerve, the gall, the AUDACITY? Gurl, this show dragged me through the mud, spat on me, and then whispered, “You liked that, didn’t you?” And guess what? I DID. But also… WHAT THE FUCK.At first, I thought this was gonna be Petrichor 2.0 (aka another slow-burn sobfest), but NAH. This show said, “You want trauma? Bet.” And it DELIVERED.

PLOT – AKA MY BLOOD PRESSURE IS HIGH
We start with Pleng, a rich girl who’s basically glued at the hip to Wan, the housekeeper’s daughter. Classic “childhood besties with too much tension” GL setup. I thought, Okay, they’re gonna grow up and have a cute little love story with some social class angst. WRONG. BITCH, I WAS SO WRONG.
Because BOOM. Pleng’s daddy is out here committing corruption, and next thing you know—BAM—he offs himself. And you thought that was dramatic? HER MOM DIES TOO. EXCUSE ME? At this point, I had to pause and reevaluate my life. Like… did I sign up for an emotionally stable viewing experience? NO. But I also didn’t sign up for THIS MUCH TRAUMA.
Fast forward 13 YEARS, and the girls are all grown up. It’s giving second-chance romance, but OH WAIT. WAN. IS. MARRIED. BITCH, I SCREAMED. My soul left my body. And Pleng? She had morals. She said, “I ain’t nobody’s mistress.” QUEEN SHIT. But then we find out… WAN AND HER HUSBAND AREN’T EVEN TECHNICALLY DIVORCED YET? THEY’RE JUST VIBING IN A PENDING SEPARATION??
And THEN. Oh, you thought we were done? YOU THOUGHT. GIRL, SIT YO ASS BACK DOWN. Because Wan’s mom drops a nuclear bomb:
“Y’all might be siblings.”
EXCUSE ME???
No, because why did I throw my phone across the room? Pleng was like “nah wtf” but WAN??? WAN SAID “IDGAF, WE STILL TOGETHER.” MA’AM. MA’AM. THAT’S A CRIME. I WAS READY TO CALL THE POLICE. The way my skin CRAWLED. Like I get it, she’s ride-or-die, but GURL. GET A GRIP.
And throughout this whole MESS, my boy Ek (Wan’s husband) was out here getting dragged through hell and back for NO REASON. Like y’all really did him so dirty. No explanation, no closure, just straight-up ghosting. The poor man was like “So I’m just a side character in my own marriage?” And when he shot himself (DON’T WORRY, HE LIVES), all Wan did was blink. NO TEARS? NOT EVEN A FAKE “I’M SORRY”??? I—
Gurl. This show STRESSED ME OUT.

CHARACTERS – AKA A THERAPIST’S NIGHTMARE
Pleng (played by Sonya) – MISS TOXICITY IN HD
At first, I was like, okay, she’s rich, a little selfish, whatever. But no. NO. This girl was out here playing mind games like she was training for the Olympics. She wanted Wan all to herself but then turned around like “Hmm maybe you should stay with Ek.” GURL. PICK A STRUGGLE. I swear she just enjoyed the drama.
That said, after the 13-year timeskip, she finally developed a little common sense and became the only stable one in this dumpster fire. Growth? We love to see it.
Acting? BITCH SHE ATE. That breakdown scene when her dad died? Oscar-worthy. I actually gasped.

Wan (played by Lookmhee) – FROM BABYGIRL TO 🚩🚩🚩
Past Wan? Adorable. Loyal. Ride-or-die. LOVED HER.
Present Wan? UNHINGED. POSSESSIVE. JEALOUS FOR NO REASON. Like girl, relax. The way she was throwing hands over Pleng hanging out with Earth… MA’AM, THEY’RE JUST FRIENDS. TAKE A DEEP BREATH. And don’t get me started on the whole “wearing an old bra” thing. That shit was gross. Why are y’all glorifying funky lingerie???
Also, sis, COMMUNICATE. Instead of throwing temper tantrums, try using your words.
But acting-wise? YAS QUEEN. SHE SLAYED.

Ek – THE MAN Y’ALL DID SO DIRTY
Listen. Was Ek perfect? No. But did he deserve that level of disrespect? ALSO NO. Homeboy was in love, okay? He gave EVERYTHING, and what did he get? Gaslit, ignored, and emotionally annihilated. Y’all couldn’t even give him a proper breakup?
And then, when he shot himself, WAN DIDN’T EVEN SHED A TEAR. GURL??? YOU SHATTERED THIS MAN’S SOUL AND THEN WENT “oh well”??? THE AUDACITY.
Ek, sweetie, you deserved better.

STEAM/SEX SCENES – MID AS HELL
Okay, I’ll admit. The teasing scenes were cute. BUT. The actual steam? Mid. Lackluster. No butterflies, no toe-curling tension, just… vibes. The lingerie was hot tho. So points for that.

OST – FORGETTABLE AS HELL
Like… it was fine? But will I be adding it to my Spotify? Nah.

FINAL VERDICT – 8.5/10, WOULD NEVER REWATCH LMAO
This show was a ROLLERCOASTER. The plot? INSANE. The characters? STRESSFUL. The drama? UNHINGED. And yet… I enjoyed every second of it. But would I ever put myself through this trauma again? ABSOLUTELY NOT. ( Only because I don’t rewatch a series unless if it’s really good )
If you love messy, toxic, high-stakes romance with zero chill, then congrats, bestie. This show was MADE for you.
If you prefer healthy relationships, emotional stability, and characters with common sense? RUN.
TL;DR: This show had me gagged, stressed, and emotionally exhausted—but also? Lowkey iconic.

I love this series so much, my only complaint though is that I would have preferred much more if they had cut off the scenes in episode 8 where Pleng goes to the party by herself and gets drunk which causes Wan’s behavior tours Pleng a little toxic. It gave me the feeling that she didn’t trust her and behaved immaturely by getting back at her. It felt unnecessary instead I would have much preferred that Pleng bring Wan with her to the party and celebrate her complete album together and/or show their wedding with beautiful, happy moments.Overall the story, the acting, the characters, and the music were done beautifully
