A Hidden Gem That Deserves Your Attention

Writing my first review here because someone needs to talk about this show—and that empty review page was killing me.

I'm a romcom person but that dark poster for Fancyland grabbed me and wouldn't let go. Despite the tiny viewer count and somewhat obvious budget constraints, this little thriller completely won me over.

The story is what got me hooked. When you don't have money for flashy effects, you better have a killer story. They nailed it. Every episode had me second-guessing everything. The pacing is spot-on too. Nothing drags, nothing feels rushed.
The mother-daughter relationship really surprised me with how genuine it felt. And Rainbow Xu needs more roles! Sure, the acting isn't award-winning across the board, but everyone brings their A-game and it shows.
The cinematography, the mood, the music—everything works together to create this tense atmosphere that sucked me right in.

I cannot review the story itself and comment about it, as, in my opinion, with the way it is written, talking about it, in itself, will give a lot of spoilers,

Quick heads up
You'll see Chinese subtitles hardcoded on screen along with English ones. Honestly though? After ten minutes I stopped noticing.

Bottom Line
Fancyland is exactly why I love digging for hidden gems. It's short enough to binge in a weekend but interesting enough that I'm already planning a rewatch in a few months.

Don't sleep on this one just because barely anyone's watching. If you are watching it and have questions, do not ask them and just keep watching!
