laughed so much i got attached

now that a whole week has passed since me and thee ended, i think i can review it properly. 📸 (LONG ASS REVIEW INCOMING).

at its core, me and thee is a romcom. from the jokes to the use of sound effects and music to emphasise the comedic aspect which is further fueled by pondphuwin's strong acting and complete embodiment of thee and peach. along with this, their chemistry is searing - even before they interact properly; that all boils down to pondphuwin and their experience with each other. you can tell just how comfortable they are with each other, something i love about theepeach is how you can see pond and phuwin in them. they flow together extremely well and the dialogue delivery of the two is masterfully done.

it may seem like just a romcom but it's not. people might say it had "no plot", "no development", "no aims". however, it did. they explored so many topics which were equally important and as impactful to the story just as the comedy and romance. the exploration of child abuse/parental abuse - peach's trauma which was deeply rooted from his past which shaped him as the person he was. fear of abandonment and loneliness, seen through thee's character and his consistent wish to have his mother's show going every time, his lack of experience in the true, real world alongside other people. it was all deliberate in building their characters and creating a deeply impactful story with a deeper meaning.

often times, comedies might not be the best, especially in terms of jokes landing properly but me and thee did it perfectly. although some jokes were surely more meaningful to a thai audience, even as an international viewer you laughed throughout the whole series, there was no joke that did not land properly. it was all in great taste and well thought out. even the lactosoy ad made so much sense; it was such a thee move therefore, it did not feel out of place at all.

the cinematography of me and thee was truly beautiful. the wider shots of thee's house - the interior shots without peach. it felt like a house but not like a home. the moment peach stepped inside of thee's world? the house truly became a home. just like peach became thee's home. their use of lighting to signify different emotions based on the situations was truly immersive and the costumes? top-tier. they just fit perfectly with the characters, further showing just how well-thought out this series was.

theepeach. theepeach hold a special place in my heart. their relationship beginning with mishaps and beautifully comedic timings. their relationship having had its own ups and downs yet? they were able to overcome that in ways that a lot of mature adults don't even try to think about anymore. pondphuwin truly excel in their acting once you allow them to start. their ability to potray so many different emotions and different stages of yearning and love is magnificent. their eyes once they land on each other is so powerful and moving, it's alluring and enchanting almost. their improvement with every series is easily seen - that too their want to be each other's partners and to keep going together. their tension soars and their acting sells every moment to the audience. theepeach found each other and they found a home. (also, parker is so cute).

tawanaran. although tawanaran did not have many scenes together, perthsanta portrayed their characters extremely well. as a viewer, i was completely immersed in the scenes between tawan and aran - their ability to embody anger and fury laced within love and pain, regret is impeccable and what sells tawanaran to the audience although they're not seen often. perth might be cast as the typical "bad boy" pretty often but he really did well showing tawan's regrets and remorse when it came to it. santa's casting was right, it was perfect. aran was such an interesting character, a character with great work ethic, somebody who valued love but also knew to draw the line between that and work, however, his love never stopped for tawan, no matter how much trouble the latter caused.

plub, bonnie did such a great job as plub. her scenes might've been mostly funny but the portrayal of her as peach's sibling, the deep care they both have for each other and the love? that was significant and symbolic of the shielding she'd received from harm by peach. plub's acceptance of peach without hesitation was moving and graceful, just like her. the more i say the less i say to be honest.

romemok. i adore romemok so much. williamest truly embodied romemok. mok having been somebody who was brought into the mafia at a very tender age, shaped to be the "strong", "level-headed" bodyguard who's only life was to guard thee. he believed his life was not his for the longest time, he believed protection over love. however, rome. rome has a tough exterior - shaped by his own personal upbringing, although a better relationship with his mother as he had the ability to be with her for longer than thee. rome comes across as aloof, childish and playful but through william's performance - specifically in the last episode - his eyes speak for themselves. his body, the close proxemics but the clear way his breath stutters and hitches as he waits for mok to answer him. romemok tell a tale of years of secrets and yearning, of wishing and longing, not knowing that love was accepted. it's so beautiful and truly remarkable just how much william and est were able to portray in the fairly short screentime they had together. it's beautiful and it's there to last.

the directing of the series was extremely well done and every single moment was impactful and refreshing. the casting was perfect. the sibling relationships hit close to home (as a younger sibling). the execution of the series went beyond my expectations, equal to my enjoyment of the series, i knew i'd enjoy it because it was pondphuwin but i didn't think i'd love this cast and hope for more this much.

MAT THE BEST CAST ! 📸

a legendary and culturally influential series

this series has given so much joy to not only international fans, but the thai general public as well. the impact and incredible impression that pond has had really became his mangum opus.

phuwin, his interpretation of peach was phenomenal. he gives such a laid back and *full* personality to peach that is not seen all the time. i could sing praises about both of them, but i want to also highlight that p'x did an absolutely beautiful job in every step of the story timeline for thee and peach. the comedy was so good, the romance was well balanced given the very clumsy style from thee growing as his feelings developed, and the visual imagery/symbolism was breathtaking.

my only complaint is that they kept the perthsanta story too prevalent. no matter how i feel about perthsanta, the tawan & aran arc was skippable for me. both of them were a mess, so i guess it's fine since they wanted to be in a mess, but the way they kept pulling peach/thee into their conflicts or toxic personalities. aran, though sweet looking, lacked so much respect for himself as a person that it just made it uncomfortable to watch him self-destruct himself. if the book is different, then that's it's own thing. in the series, we didn't actually need to see them.

the arc that should have been focused on more was rome & mok. there was so much left unsaid and we didn't really see their own dynamic too much. it makes sense given the fact that william was essentially a last-minute addition, but it would've been great if p'x had more time to work him in to the series better.

still, this series is the series of the year for me. there isn't much that i can compare to it, but seeing the way pond & phuwin have been able to blow away the general public with their naturalness on screen, it makes me so happy to see them get that recognition that is hard for most, if not all, bl pairings to achieve. truly deserving of so many accolades this year!

Dose of sunshine but they did phuwin dirty

As a series this is outstanding!
Didnt even realise over the top cringey dialogues are the ones missing in my life....
This became one of my comfort bl series that i can always come back to...
Pond is joy, he delivered everyhing in a very adorkable way! Hers is soo much that can go wrong wih his character if not potreyed properly, he oushined everyone...
Phuwin is loveee, he looked veryyy handomely beauiful in a very dangerous way. No wonder thee was smitten from their first meeting.. who can blame him... hes soo caring full of love in every bone of his body.. he might seem boring in first couple of days of knowing him but he is the perfect partner in a long run...
BUT the series did phuwin dirty..thers soo much that can be explored within his character but the focal point was always on thee..i ddint feel the equality which was supposed be present...all the green flag points from novel wore moved to thee... for eg it was peach who wanted to adopt the twins and conveyed that to thee before going in further into relationship keeping everything transparent what he would be getting into...even gmmtv didnt give enough credit nor the screentime he deserved...
Mokh deserves a raise during the run time of series and promotion as romes bf after the end! What not has done for theepeach?? Est was super!!

Overall finally found another series to go back to when depressed or looking for couple of laughs...

My heart is full

I can't even describe into words how this series made my heart feel. It was funny, serious, silly, and heartfelt romantic all at the same time.

At first, I didn't know if I would like it because it seemed so cheesy. But about the midpoint I fell in love and couldnt stop watching. By the end of it, it is one of my top rated most beloved series now.

Very pleasing to watch

This show actually surprises me a lot. I really enjoyed thee character. This show is cringy, but in the good way. PondPuin, you nailed it. Thee character actually the greenest flag ever. Lol
The side characters have not enough screen time, but they are still enjoyable. I really like est character in here. Even though he is only a bodyguard, he has charisma.

It's sweet and funny

The drama focuses more on feelings than big dramatic moments. It’s the kind of show you watch when you’re in the mood for something calm and emotional rather than intense.
The characters feel pretty real, and that’s what makes the drama work. Their conversations, awkward moments, and silences all feel natural. The relationship builds slowly, so it doesn’t feel rushed or forced, which is actually really nice if you enjoy slow-burn stories.
Visually, the drama is simple and soothing, and the background music fits the mood perfectly. It gives off a warm, cozy vibe and makes you want to keep watching, especially during quiet evenings.
Overall, Me and Thee is a good pick if you like gentle storytelling, emotional connections, and dramas that focus on everyday feelings instead of over-the-top drama. It’s subtle, sweet, and quietly touching.

Best comfort watch

This show is such a comfort watch for me. I keep finding myself coming back to it and rewatching episodes because it just lifts my mood and makes me happy every time. The acting feels so natural and perfect that it almost seems like the actors were truly born to play these roles. Their chemistry and delivery make every scene enjoyable and memorable. It’s one of those rare shows that never gets old, no matter how many times you watch it. Overall, I would definitely recommend giving it a watch—and honestly, a rewatch too. It’s the kind of series that you can return to again and again and still enjoy just as much as the first time. 😊

A light, cute, romantic and such a funny drama

Please forgive my english, it's not my first languge.
Listen, this is one of the funniest series I've seen recently! To the point of laughing out loud. Let's start with the fact that Thee is sure that the world is a Thai drama (starring his mother), he's filthy rich so he has no proportions at all, every third sentence of his is a cliché and his behavior is often cringe-worthy so there's no choice but to laugh. He reminded me a bit of the character of Louis from the series "Shopaholic Louis", not because they're similar but because on paper they both sound like terrible characters but in reality they have some kind of charm/innocence/cuteness/humor that makes them great. Somehow precisely because he's so clichéd and "over the top" he manages to be cute.
Now add to that scenes that are parodies of clichés, say when Thee is worried that Peach is mad at him, so he brings him a glass of water so he can throw water in his face. Or when he kneels down and begs the heavens to take away Peach's pain, simply because he doesn't understand that an apology is possible. It's hilarious and at the same time really cute.
Oh, and let's not forget the episode where, as part of Thee's daydream, they burst into song and dance as if we were in a Disney musical. It's intentionally cringe-worthy and clichéd, and for me, that's humor at its best. Along the way, all of these things give Thee's character a special personality, and it's a genius way to turn a mafia boss into a character who isn't scary or problematic (if you ignore a few things at the beginning).

Well, after all this outpouring of love for Thee, the truth is that I really liked Peach. In stark contrast to Thee, Peach is a normal, practical, sociable guy and, in principle, he could be any average person on the street (if the average person on the street was 1.80 tall, incredibly handsome, and with a melting smile). He has a complicated past, but in everyday life he is completely normal, except perhaps for his general calmness and his ability not to get excited by Thee's grandiose sentences and gestures. He teaches Thee how to say thank you and how to apologize and brings him down to earth when he's over the top (or at least tries to, Thee like a helium balloon quickly returns to the clouds). And he does all of this with sensitivity and simplicity, without making Thee miserable, a joke, or too strange. And excuse me, but I think of Peach's smile and his eyes, they are so beautiful and kind, and he is so calm and takes life simply, he is simply a great character, I'm probably inlove Hahaha. Thee's excessive love (and money and self-confidence) allows him to take care of this man who is used to taking care of everyone else. Man, I love them.

On a personal note, it's probably the first BL drama I actully realy enjoyed and appricated , and also first Thai drama I liked in a long time.

What's not perfect about the series?
The whole mafia thing doesn't really hold water. From a lame fight scene to all sorts of "family rules" that are supposed to create conflict but are actually resolved in an instant. So, like, why did you make me think there was supposed to be a problem? I'm not sure if this is part of the parody.

Well, I have to add something about the ending, I mean what happens after the ending.
First of all, the production added an e to the caption "THE END," so it says THEE END. It's a small but cute wink, and in my eyes, it's genius in its own right. Then, salute to them, they do a kind of arsepoetics and breaking of the fourth wall, or maybe creating the fifth wall - Thee decides to produce a series about his love story, so he buys the production company (the real name of the company changes a bit, thank you again, genius writer), talks to the CEO and the director, and all sorts of actors. I recognized a few of them, so I assume these are the real actors. It's so cool, and it also shows that the entire production doesn't take itself too seriously. Salute to them.
Final conclusion: 9.5/10. A light, cute, romantic and such a funny series.

When you think it can’t get funnier, Khun Thee comes around the corner and proves you wrong

I gotta say GMMT(hee)V ate with this series and left absolutely no crumbs. It’s been a really long time since I had been so entertained by a romcom - like I was so invested in this series to the point that I was more looking forward to Saturdays than Christmas.

More is more was indeed the motto here because adding PerthSanta and WilliamEst to the already chaotic duo PondPhuwin made this series simply incredible. I loved how each couple brought a different energy to the mix, catering to different preferences/audiences without plot holes. Ofc some things could’ve been explained more in detail in the TawanAran or even RomeMok story, but we gotta remind ourselves that P’X needed to incorporate so much content into 10 episodes which is crazy work. So all props to P’X and the entire filming staff for making this work so well.

And OMG I loved all the characters in this show! Khun Thee had me rolling on the floor with his mannerisms and also the way he changed for Peach made my heart melt.
But I gotta say, my favorite character in the whole series has to be Mok - this guy deserved to have pay raise the moment when Thee laid his eyes on Peach. Mok wasn’t just a bodyguard, but he was more like an unpaid therapist, personal assistant, event organizer, messenger and driver - all in one package deal. And I’m not even talking about how handsome Est looked in those suits…

And for those saying it’s too cringe, go watch the series while using your brain cells and some critical thinking because if you had you would understand why Khun Thee speaks and behaves that way.

Mafia Boss x Y/N that completely understands how to use this trope - its so funny omg

I went into this show with very mild expectations, I was a fan of 'We Are' (with some small critiques) but overall really loved PondPhuwin's performances in that show - however i am so sick of and really lowkey a massive hater of Mafia tropes, I feel like they are so overdone, cringey, cliche and boring and I hate the power dynamics that the Mafia Boss x Y/N trope plays on. Hence my hesitations to watch this show in particular. Luckily PondPhuwin and WilliamEst pulled through though because I genuienly think this is one of the top 3 best BL's that GMMTV has ever produced.

The director and writers completely understood how seriously to take the mafia boss trope, creating a show that consistently pokes fun at the typical unlikeable male mafia boss character, keeping many of the same character traits - such as extremely rich and powerful, banned from dating, orders all his staff to do everything for the Y/N character, etc, etc, - and flips these on their heads. This creates a very loveable character who grows and changes, and is honestly extremely refreshing, it feels so original and creative, even though the ideas stemmed from extremely overused and unlikable tropes. It's hilarious and holds so much nuance that gives this show a lot of heart and deeper meaning than its silly, fun and loving surface.

I feel like the show wasn't made with the intention of hitting a 100% on rotten tomatoes and a 10/10 on letterboxd, that is to say that this show wasn't made to cater to technical and harsh film and tv criticisers, it was made with passion and a genuine love and excitment for the show that was made. It's so different and wonderful to finally find a show like this that is just comforting and fun to watch, whilst also being high quality, and that has 'life lessons' and deeper meanings that just happen to be there (obviously they are intentional, the subtlety is a huge credit to the writers) in comparision to the sea of tv shows lately that force serious takes down your throat and try everything they can to come off as edgy and this warped idea of mature. Its like i can finally listen to a lullaby sung by someone I love rather than a song with impossible notes sung by the most technically perfect singer of all time. Both are great but I barely get to listen to the lullaby - and thats what this show is.

I honestly feel like its a shame that this is a thai BL - produced by a company that doesn't have a high held respect in online spaces and doesn't always do everything right in my eyes, because I feel like so many people would love this show and appreciate the humour who will never give it a chance.

Kinda majorly glazed the show there, but i guess i'm just passing on some of the passion from the showmakers, and a fun show makes writing a review fun!! I don't think this show is perfect, and I could of pointed things out that weren't at a super high standard, but none of that really matters to me if i enjoy the show - and i definitely did. HIGHLY reccomend if you're a fan of silly shows.
