a quirky character and his grounded love interest

Overall: enjoyed the sweet moments. 10 episodes about 1 hour each. Based on a book "Me and Thee" by laWilathat which I haven't read and I reviewed the series on its own merits. Aired on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/me-and-thee-episode-1-14dekvm74mw?lang=en_us and GMMTV's YouTube channel (not in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Canada, U.S.)

Content Warnings: violence/beaten up, past sexual abuse, past child abuse/violence (in episode 4, 53:30-end), manipulation, attempted murder, manhandling, unwanted outing

What I Liked
- styling/set design
- easy to understand premise
- I did chuckle a few times*
- a trash character had consequences
- caring moments

Room For Improvement
- *the comedy sound effects didn't make things funny and detracted from the humor
- would have liked in episode 5 for Thee to wait for a yes or a nod (he did this additional times, asked and then just went ahead)
- I didn't add love bombing and ignoring boundaries, but I almost did. I didn't like that aspect of Thee's approach though I understand he is not doing it from a place of maliciousness. However, he didn't communicate with Peach when making decisions that directly involved him. I didn't see much character growth.
- did not care at all about the model couple, wanted more of the bodyguard and his romantic interest

Me & Thee

Albeit, I'm not much for Thai dramas, so take this review with a grain of salt.

I wasn't too impressed by the story as nothing was really intriguing about it. Thee's actor did amazing at portraying a silly, longing golden-retriever boyfriend. While Peach's actor was great at portraying a fluffy and kind character, I felt like his feelings towards Thee were a little understated.

This seems to be due to writing. Instead of playing along with Thee, oftentimes Peach would just... shoot him down? This leads to a lot of moments which are funny, but lack any true romantic depth.

For what it is I really enjoyed the side characters in this drama.

I'm in love with Pond/Thee. Too adorably cheesy and gorgeous!

There is so much I like about “Me and Thee”. Over-the-top comedy can put me off sometimes, but “Me and Thee” never deviates from what it sets out to be and the comedy just works especially by creating a very consistent and adorable character, Thee. Thee is the shining star! However, there’s enough that I can pick on to prevent me from giving this drama a 9+ rating.

Let’s start with my criticisms. “Me and Thee” is a character-driven drama. Everything revolves around Thee and Peach and their romance. It’s not a bad thing but I wanted more. It feels like nothing really happened for most of the drama. It could have spent a little more time on Mok and Rome because they are more interesting than Tawan and Aran. I would love to see how Rome continues to flirt shamelessly and try to break Mok’s armour. I want more of how they fall in love. Maybe they are planning on a special episode or a different season for them. If the drama wants to focus on Tawan and Aran, then I need more than what it gave me. Give me more background story of their past relationship, so that I can understand why Aran couldn’t leave Tawan no matter how hard he tries. The drama spends a little time on showing us how explosive and jealous Tawan could be and that Aran is trying to resist. Yet, the Tawan’s family troubles and their conflict resolved so half-heartedly.

I also didn’t like episode 10 very much. It feels like a filler episode even though it jams a proposal, engagement, wedding and a new family all in one. The romance and humor are not as well-written compared to the last 9 episodes. I do like the humor in the last few minutes when the new GMMTV was introduced. Those cameos were fun.

How about what I like?

POND! Wow… Pond/Thee is the STAR of the show. Oh My Gosh. I laughed out loud so much at Thee’s antics. The character is so consistent from beginning to the end, even though he has matured and grown so much. It proves that you can fall in love and still maintain your personality. Thee is so over-the-top, naive, clingy and possessive, yet he is so darn adorable and gorgeous! Pond did a fabulous job playing this role convincingly. Comparatively, Phuwin did fine and I thought his emotional scenes weren’t as good. Pond and Phuwin have great chemistry. Everytime they are on my screen, I look forward to the crazy things that would come out of Thee’s mouth and then wait for Peach’s patient explanation and lesson in life. I love that Thee takes the time to get to know Peach, and really takes into consideration not to do anything Peach might not like. Peach also accepts Thee for who he is. They have a very healthy relationship of give and take, willing to learn and improve and compromise. I was just a little surprised at the lack of NC scenes, and that there aren’t too many kisses. They are sweet though, just aren’t as passionate or sexy as I thought they would be.

Mok is such a great character to balance Thee’s exaggeration. It’s fun to see Mok try to hold his tongue, roll his eyes and patiently talk some sense into Thee to get rid of those outrageous ideas. The occasional break from boss/employee relationship to best friends is heartwarming. I wish we could see more of them as friends and have some more heart-to-heart conversations.

Thee’s family seems like fun and we only got glimpses of who they really are. I actually want to see more of Thee’s parents and want to know what’s real and what’s rumored regarding the Lee Mafia family.. We also only got a few scenes of Thee and Rome’s bickering and they were so fun. I wanted more!

What else do I like? The good-looking cast! It’s lovely to see these actors all grown up from “We Are” and “Perfect 10 Liners” and not play high school or college students anymore. So many eye candies!

I had a great time watching “Me and Thee” despite a weaker episode 10. The comedy works for me and I just LOVE Pond in this drama. If you are finicky or unsure about the humor, I recommend watching one episode to see if you will fall in love with Pond/Thee or not. If you think he’s too overdramatic and cheesy, then please stop.

Y/N and mafia boss

*minor spoilers*
Nice and cute comedy series. I really enjoyed all of the sweet moments.

Where to watch: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLszepnkojZI4FP9uMttYt5IYujbpNVPUG

Things I liked:
1. Thee is such a goober, I love it.
2. Mok. Definitely a favorite character, so funny. He was a highlight of a lot of moments in this series.
3. Peach's maturity. I love how different he is from Thee and how he is teaching Thee a lot.
4. Rome/Williams appearance.
5. Mostly funny humor that isn't overly cringy or annoying.

Things I disliked:
1. Using AI slop.
2. No explanation of what happened to Wiwid. He is literally a predator and deserves to be treated as one. He definitely deserved a sentence in prison. But we were not shown if he received any actual repercussion for his deeds.
3. So many ads...
4. Not nearly enough of the RomeMok couple!
5. I personally wasn't that fond of TawanAran's couple. Especially after Aran took him back just like that.

Could've been better

I loved Me and Thee. The first episodes were funny and enjoyable, with Thai soap opera references and fast progressing plot. In the middle episodes, I felt kind of boring. But the last episode brought me joy and happiness again. The ending was beautiful, with Thee even buying GMMTV 🤣🤣🤣.

I really really loved Pond's acting. His acting made Me and Thee deserve all the hype the drama received. I must say, Pond Naravit's acting was impressive and truly remarkable. He totally nailed his character. All Thee Peach scenes were so good and they had very good chemistry together.

In my opinion, Rome-Mok relationship wasn't shown as expected. I still believe they could've given them more screentime and include them properly in the storyline as a side couple rather than Tawan and Aran. William and Est both added great scenes with their acting. I liked that. It's a shame they had very little screentime compared. One thing, you cannot expect everyone who watches Me and Thee to have read the novel. I didn't read either. So, the screenwriter should've organize the plot more clearly so that the general public could understand better.

Telling the cons, I'll start by mentioning the no dating rule in the mafia family. The father had banned their kids from having relationships, which caused a lot of suffering for both his kids. But in the end when Thee finally tells his dad about it, he had that "Oh man I was just kidding. It wasn't that serious" vibe. Like, what was that? He had made both his sons mentally distressed for a long time because of this rule. Too much time was wasted in the episodes just because of this.

Combining a lot of tropes like abusive parents, orphanage kids, no dating rule, mafia bosses competition, messy and red flag relationships (tawan-aran), evil work rival (Wiwat or whatever his name was) and a lot more into one drama made the story a bit messy. It seems great for some people I know, but I felt a bit messy.

Also, if the mafia boss plot was the main thing after thee peach relationship, they could've added more scenes with the Shohei group and Touch. Thee and Touch's rivalry could've added more action scenes but they totally wasted that potential. It would've been better if they expanded that plot rather than ending it with just one action scene in episode 9. Thee is a mafia boss after all.

Lastly, Tawan-Aran side plot was totally unnecessary that I wanted to skip their parts. Aran is illogical; one time he wants to get rid of Tawan and live his life, other time he'd go all lengths just to have him back. Their interactions indicated all the signs of a no-return breakup. Tawan is a red flag. However, they got together in episode 9. All I can say is that Aran has no self respect for himself. He shouldn't have gotten back together with Tawan at all, since Tawan treated him much worse and getting jealous for every small thing and always misunderstand things. I don't believe he could change 180° just like that in such a short time.

Overall, this series is not bad. The acting, music and sound effects were great. All episodes brought a lot of smile on my face. I appreciate that. But I have some kind of "It could've been better" feeling.

THE ROMCOM THAT ATTACKED ME PERSONALLY

Okay. Now that we actually understand the REAL story, let me scream properly.

This is not just “soft BL slow burn.”
This is "dramatic mafia heir x emotionally stable photographer romcom chaos" and I was NOT PREPARED.

---

THEERAKIT KIAN LEE (THEE) — DRAMATIC KING OF DELUSION

Played by "Pond Naravit" , Thee is a former mafia heir who now runs a luxury brand… but mentally? Spiritually? Emotionally?
He lives inside a lakorn. This man learned romance from soap operas and it SHOWS.

He doesn’t flirt normally.
He delivers declarations like background music is swelling.
He stares like he’s about to announce a plot twist.
He falls in love like it’s the final episode.

And when he hires Peach to be his LOVE COACH so he can chase someone else??? Sir. The irony.

Watching Thee try to act “cool” while clearly falling for Peach instead is peak secondhand embarrassment and I LOVED EVERY SECOND. He’s loud in his feelings. Over-the-top. So earnest it hurts. And yet… he always asks for consent. He always listens when Peach draws a line. Dramatic but respectful king?? We love growth.

---

PEACHAYARAT JANEKIT (PEACH) — CALM, HOT, UNBOTHERED… UNTIL HE ISN’T

Played by "Phuwin Tangsakyuen", Peach is the grounded freelance photographer who just wanted to do his job and live peacefully. Instead, he got adopted by chaos.

Peach is introverted, emotionally intelligent, and allergic to nonsense. The way he looks at Thee like,
“Why are you like this?” but also “…why do I kind of like this?” ......................................IS EVERYTHING.

He doesn’t melt immediately. He doesn’t swoon. He calls Thee out. He sets boundaries. He makes Thee WORK for it. And watching Thee slowly shift from performative flirting to real, vulnerable affection because Peach won’t accept anything fake???

THAT’S THE ROMCOM GOLD.

---

THE DYNAMIC — CHAOS X COMPOSURE

This is not quiet yearning slow burn.

This is:

* Dramatic mafia prince who thinks love needs fireworks
* Emotionally mature photographer who just wants sincerity
* Love coaching that backfires spectacularly
* Accidental falling in love while pretending not to

The humor is REAL. Like actually funny. Not cringey filler. Thee’s dramatic logic vs Peach’s deadpan reactions? ICONIC.

But here’s the dangerous part:

Under all the comedy… it gets soft.

Thee learning to love without performance.
Peach slowly letting himself enjoy the chaos.
Moments where the joking stops and they just look at each other and it’s suddenly intimate.

That shift from ridiculous to real? That’s when it hits.

---

WHY THIS STORY WORKS

It’s not about mafia violence.
It’s not about tragic trauma.
It’s about a man who thought love was theatrical discovering that love can be quiet and grounded — and choosing that.

And Peach? He learns that sometimes chaos can feel safe too.

It’s mutual growth wrapped in romcom nonsense and I ate it up.

---

FOR ME - Me and Thee is:

✨ Over-the-top flirting
✨ Consent king energy
✨ Deadpan reactions
✨ Accidental falling
✨ Mafia heir who cannot function normally
✨ Photographer who pretends he’s immune but absolutely is not

It’s chaotic. It’s funny. It’s soft when you least expect it.

And Pond as Theerakit Kian Lee + Phuwin as Peachayarat Janekit?

Perfect romcom balance. One dramatic. One grounded. Both whipped.

10/10 for chaos.
10/10 for chemistry.
Emotionally? I need therapy.

Almost wished it was more absurd.

All BLs require a certain level of suspension of disbelief — but Me and Thee offers a strangely confusing paradigm: the more it tried to lean into realism, the harder my brain had to work to believe any of it.

When the show fully committed to being over-the-top, it was genuinely fantastic. Thee’s constant (mis)understanding of the world — people, social norms, even basic human functions — was hilarious. His mother seeing everything through a melodramatic lens, the ridiculous wealth, the absolute disregard for money, and Pond fully committing to the “voices in Thee’s head”… those things produced some of the most gloriously unhinged moments in the series.

Even the romance only really works when you view it through a comedic, exaggerated lens.

But whenever the show tried to pivot into drama, sincerity, or grounded emotional realism, it completely collapsed. Even Peach felt a little too normal for the universe the show was building — and in a “normal” context, him falling for Thee makes absolutely no sense (no matter how much trauma the story throws in to justify it). If the writers had leaned into Peach’s obsession with peace, quiet, and tranquility in a much more extreme way, the show would’ve actually become more coherent — paradoxically — because it would match the heightened world around him.

And I won’t even get into the abandoned plot threads and half-dropped story engines.

Honestly, a lot of that could’ve been forgiven if the series were consistently absurd. But instead, some of it just feels loosely written — and that’s the worst kind of messy.

I might sound harsh, but I genuinely enjoyed the show. In a few years, I’ll probably only remember the funniest scenes — and in that sense, it did exactly what it came to do.
I really hope we get more BLs in this genre, just executed with tighter control.

Still, overall? I’d recommend watching it.

Already Iconic

I can't believe how quickly this show became a hit - and it is incredibly deserved. I'm typically not the biggest fan of comedies, but this one had me laughing out loud every episode. My usual problem is that the jokes don't translate well or cultural differences in comedy are too large, but in this case, they managed to make this a show that everyone will find funny. Pond and Phuwin do an INCREDIBLE job portraying these characters, and I think they'll go down as their most recognizable and famous characters for years to come.

Mr. Thee (Pond), the CEO of perfume company Arseni and first son of a major mafia boss, wants to sleep with Arseni's top model, Aran (Santa). Luckily, before the bodyguard kidnap the poor model, the freelance photographer currently working on Arseni's new project Peach (Phuwin) steps in. Peach convinces Thee that threatening someone is not the way to their heart, and Thee convinces Peach to help him learn how to date by going on dates with him. Quickly, Thee forgets all about Aran and falls head over heels for Peach. Peach, oblivious to this, is baffled by every single move Thee makes.

The combo of "mafia boss obsessed with old timey soap operas" and the play on mafia CEO x y/n made this show HILARIOUS. Truly, even if you don't like comedies, it is worth watching because it is that good. There were a few major downsides to this show though: (1) There were two side couples, neither of which got much of a storyline. It felt like two half-baked plotlines instead of giving just one side couple a decent plot; and (2) the climax/main issues seemed to go away WAY too easily - a rival mafia boss and Thee's dad's rule about not falling in love barely seemed to actually matter. Still, this show was super fun and the most interesting characters Pond and Phuwin have played yet. Definitely give it a watch - just don't watch it for PerthSanta or WilliamEst, because this show is pretty much only about PondPhuwin.

What kind of heart beats a person’s name?Khun Thee’s heart: Lookpeach. Lookpeach. Lookpeaccchhh

Me and Thee is so cheesy and stupid and I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Khun Thee is such a hilarious character. He can be cringey, especially with his "soap opera" lines, but Peach’s gentle and kind nature balances him out perfectly. Every time Khun Thee acts like a mafia boss in his fancy suit (and that one funny strand of hair on his forehead!)—using that deep voice and threatening tone—the background music and dramatic zooms crack me up. I enjoyed seeing how meeting Peach made Thee realize he wasn't living a "normal" life and that there is more to the world than just being rich.

Mok is equally funny; his judgy expressions, his tendency to get fed up with Thee, and his sassy clapbacks are so entertaining to watch.

Peach is a fantastic character; I always love characters who are genuinely kind. Even though he was scared and intimidated by Thee in the beginning, he was still really nice to him.

The episode where Peach took Thee on as his assistant to show him "normal" life was lovely. For the first time, Thee got to experience a regular existence, and it was heartwarming to see how Peach made him happy with the little things and took great care of him. The part where Thee wrote his name on Peach’s arm because everything that’s his has his name marked on it was adorable, as was him adoring the wind chime he got from Peach. I enjoyed the flight ticket tantrum scene, it was over the top and PondPhuwin delivered their lines well.

I’m a huge fan of PondPhuwin, they are so cute as a pair, and I’m glad to see them back in a rom-com series. I love how Pond’s characters are obsessed with Phuwin’s in every universe. Also, what I love about PondPhuwin’s shows is that they don’t necessarily need a lot of kissing or intimate scenes; the chemistry and the spark are always there. I am in awe of how Pond managed to deliver Khun Thee’s lines so shamelessly and endeared at how Phuwin managed not to laugh at Pond. Pond killed it as Khun Thee, but the one who had me kicking my legs and biting my pillow and driving me insane was Phuwin, oh my god, Phuwin! Wtf. When did he get this hot? Damn he’s so fine, we both need to get a grip Khun Thee!!

Est was a total scene-stealer with his hilarious expressions and that cunty wardrobe! the glasses, the vest, the gun holster, the tiny waist! He looked incredible. William was also cute as Rome; he looked so tiny standing next to Est. Their part was so short though. I didn’t really enjoy PerthSanta’s storyline.

Overall, I really, really enjoyed this show, I’ll add this to the list of my comfort shows.

This show is so dear to me, I haven't laughed like that in a long time

I genuinely love this show so much. I haven't laughed like that in a long time. The casting is perfect, all the actors are playing themselves irl, the acting, the story, the music effects are just perfect, I also love the fact that it touches serious topics despite being a comedy series, and it shows them perfectly. I can't even point one thing that could have been done better. I don't think I will ever find a better show. You can be laughing your ass off and at the same time being touched by beautiful words and ways to portray love, being queer or different. just perfection.
