In war-torn Republican China, a struggling theater troupe rolls into town with big dreams and even bigger egos. Troupe leader Hou Xi Ting brings his performers to the famed Dexiang Theater for what’s supposed to be a grand showcase--until things take a wild turn before the curtain even rises. Their star actor vanishes, and the only one left to take center stage is... the bumbling errand boy from a nearby noodle shop?! What follows is a night of peak mayhem: backstage drama, miscast roles, jealous performers, and a full-blown armed outburst from a furious opera master. With mistaken identities, clashing ambitions, and the fate of the troupe hanging by a thread, can this disastrous performance somehow still go on?
