The story begins with the heroine's entrance into the imperial palace, setting a timer to solve the case. In the quest to track down the true culprit, she must navigate the power struggles among the imperial concubines and the complex relationships with three men of varying identities. Each key piece of evidence in the play connects to the secrets of the past and present dynasties, forming a cohesive narrative thread. Simple Palace Intrigue Drama
First, despite this show being set up in horizontal format, it essentially is a vertical drama. If you remove all the credits the entire show is somewhere between 3 and 4 hours long. The plot is made to look good in theory but if you don't turn your brain COMPLETELY off you notice all the plot holes, inconsistencies, and absurdities. For instance, the scene where she has TWO men in her room at night. There are spies everywhere and yet she doesn't see any issue with doing this....Something to note is that the synopsis given about a "timer to solve the case" and "secrets of past and present dynasties" is false. Neither of these aspects have anything to do with the final show presented. Perhaps in the original concept of a show where there were going to be 40 episodes and Easter eggs would allow the viewer to control the narrative these synopsis details make sense; but not in the present show.
Ultimately I enjoyed my experience watching this drama and ranting about how dumb it is. I found it entertaining but there are absolutely better palace dramas in vertical and horizontal format.

So-so short
Pretty standard palace, revenge short - not horrible, but not that great either.Lots of plot holes - again, pretty standard for a short - but this one has a few too many glaring ones - like, they give you a headache kind. Usual chopping eating from one episode to another.
Did not care for the FL actress in this - the overacting, especially in overly emotional scenes - almost made me feel like I was watching a soap opera at times.
Eye makeup for FL was districting - the clumpy mascara drove me nuts.
Absolutely NO 2ML syndrome here for me - didnt even get why this is in there. I got the doctor - but the prince made NO sense. Just felt like it was there to create drama for main couple.
Main couple had ok chemistry - but not great.
Pretty standard fair - and would only say give it a go if you need some filler while waiting for another drama.
