A beautiful epilogue to the story with a strong and important activist point of view !

More than a SP, it can simply be seen as an episode 11 which serves as a beautiful epilogue to the story with a strong and important activist point of view ! As I have already written in my review of the drama, far from being preachy, it opens the door in a mindful way to reflection on the place of gay relationship in Japanese society.

All the qualities of the series can be found in the epilogue : the outstanding chemistry between the actors, the sentimental and sorrowful music, the un-skippable opening song of the introduction generic... I like how water was once again an essential element of the storytelling.

I would recommend this to people that have seen the main series. Do yourself a favor and don't miss the epilogue of this amazing and poetic drama.

One N Only, Heartache and LGBTQI relationship struggles

The struggles of being in a gay relationship in Japan that causes trauma, heartache and frustration throughout the LGBTQI community is echoed here in this series. Poignant, thought provoking and at times tears of frustration clearly conveys why the fight for LGBTQI relationships should continue. Everyone should have the right to love and marry whomever they wish regardless of gender.

WTF? Did we need that?

If this is the episode 11 (why does MDL state it's 2 episodes?) ?

I think we could have lived without it for sure.

Even when society is fucked up in Japan, a BL should give an positive outlook and not keep Jin in the closet because of pressure... So I hate the story for 100%. All the rest was good as usual, but the story destroyed it for me.
For context: They changed the manga, so his dad made a movie about two boys (in the manga he had a girl & boy), Jins friends were present to watch Hirukawas movie at university (they were absent in the manga). So I do hate it, that they changed the manga for the better but did not finish it with consequence.
Of course I can understand it, when you don't want to out yourself in the company or to strangers who you have no connections with, but at least his dad would have understood and he was not in it. So it's sad, they did not have the guts to do something better and so, if you like the excellent series, you should not watch this!

Announcing their Love and Marriage Talks!

A slice to the main story, highlighting marriage importance of signifying your love with your partner. It's still not possible for men to marry each other in the modern time for many nations, and this series portrays that we have a long way to go as humans. Again, opening up about your love to the public especially with the person of the same sex can be hard, the judgments and harsh comments from people can be unbearable. Even if Hirukawa and Minase didn't marry each other here, they are still hopeful that their love will last until the end of time and the laws might change.

What a great story, 10/10 for me. This doesn't need a perfect ending with a matrimony among two people of the same sex, it leaves room for questioning reality. Gay love also matters. We do want to share thoughts and ideas like heterosexual couples too. Love is love.

Some conflicting feelings

Watching this directly after seeing the finale of the show was definitely the right choice - seeing just how strong and steady their relationship had become was the perfect ending to the story.
The frank discussions of marriage equality were also greatly appreciated!
However the point where it goes awry for me and the reason I've taken off such a large amount of points (for me anyway) was the idea that keeping their relationship completely secret is the right choice.
"Marriage equality is important and the way to achieve it is to live in secret and wait until it happens on its own." What kind of message is that?! Not one worthy of an otherwise queer drama, I'll say that much, and one that left a bad taste in my mouth.
Of course being openly queer and actively fighting for change isn't possible for everyone, nor should be expected of them, but Jin and Haruki could at least have come out to their friends, or even tried to find connections to the queer community to create a space where they could publicly be themselves.
I hope to see future shows do better!

So much love

This special episode was great, just like the whole series. It must be so hard to be so much in love and not be able to marry each other when you want to. I really hope things will change in the near future.

This episode had great visuals en good music.
The chemistry between the main is great and the kisses good.

If you love the series, this special episode is a must watch!
