Yeong Gyeong, an alcoholic, and Su Hwan, a rheumatism patient, first meet at a friend's wedding. Both have failed their first marriages. Su Hwan, who has worked with iron since he was 20, becomes a credit defaulter with debt after his wife suggests a fake divorce when his ironworks shop goes bankrupt. After the fake divorce, Su Hwan's wife secretly disposes of their remaining assets and disappears. Unable to join health insurance due to his credential status, Su Hwan cannot receive proper treatment. As a result, the inflammation spreads to his spine, leading to various complications. Yeong Gyeong, who had been a Korean language teacher, divorces right after giving birth to a child after a year of marriage. After the divorce, her ex-husband's family secretly immigrates to Canada with the child. Separated from her child, Yeong Gyeong falls into alcoholism. Unable to teach students due to her addiction, she quits being a teacher. Having met at a point when they have lost everything, they don't try to stop, persuade, or correct each other's flaws, they simply witness each other's downfall and suffer together.
