Our Universe Episode 2 Reactions
Ngl the 2nd ep has me hooked. The pacing was better and I got accustomed to the characters. Acting: ML's is ofc good but Fl's expression which seemed awkward at first now fits the exaggerated expressions (of her character) and I like it. I think it was her bangs all along. Seeing her in hierarchy, her look change seemed pretty distant and the expressions out of place. Now that I have seen more of her in this look and understood her character better I got no complaints. I would like to point out the first few min of the ep were so depressing, the execution was good. Presentation: I am still annoyed at the abrupt scene cuts here and there. The convo btw Fl and ML where she was trying to convince him to take care of baby, the camera movements made it difficult to see their expressions. Writing/Plot: As it is a cliched plot, I saw the Bermuda triangle coming . Anyways, the comedy landed well and did not seem forced like the previous ep. More screentime to FL's and ML's friends this ep gives me the hope to see their involvement in upcoming episodes. Finally, I can say that the drama looks promising as there is more to FL and ML's individual life including the past. ML's father's story is also a good element ( hope it is executed well and not like a mini sub plot). For 12 ep, given this pacing I think everything would fit fine, it can't get more fast than this.. Can it?

It is a given that everything with the baby is going to be adorable. What was very well done was presenting the views from siblings with no idea whatsoever in dealing with children. As little sis walks through her sister’s home, we are poignantly drawn in to the love and care her sister gives everything. She finds an apology post it on her books and is flooded with memories of all the care her sis has given her. She and baby have a good cry about missing the sis/mom that made this house a home. The younger brother is just about getting his life in order to his view of perfection, when he finds out his brother’s last phone call was to him and he wanted to discuss something important. He can’t quite escape wanting to know what that conversation would have been. The best friend arriving with tons of questions and wanting to know what happened to the house🤣😂 The bathtub incident and the complete crashing after cleanup is a laugh out loud moment that most parents can completely relate to. There is a very fun series of events that gets her through an interview and causes him a one month delay in moving into his apartment. His perfectionist ways did wonders for the state of the house and he is truly a needed element for them. In his case I felt bad as he walked through the house. Aside from his nephew’s need, there was nothing to link him to anything in his brother’s life. All the messy scenes inside and the fountain and bubble scenes outside were well done and completely entertaining. What is special about this drama compared to others is that we are getting the sibling relationship history and how their absence is felt by each of them. It’s not just centered on becoming a couple and taking care of baby. It thoughtfully reflects on the union of two families and how the older siblings did or did not include the younger one. We are seeing their struggles as individuals and the realization from both of them that their life is changed forever and how will they deal with that.

Loving the chemistry between leads at the moment. It's refreshing to see the ML Danny moving in and helping as a way to stay instead of what seems to be the typical self-centered manipulation that tends to happen in other dramas. He even disclosed why he needs to stay there and seems to be open about communicating what he's feeling instead of doing the typical stone-wall or redirect that many MLs tend to do.I wish we saw more of the house - is Danny staying in the main bedroom or hers? Where is Woo Joo's nursery? Also, what a terrible contractor that didn't repair the plumbing flood during the "window of opportunity." He should have fixed it even though he couldn't get a hold of Danny. The contractor ended up costing significantly more in repairs. And why was the water to that unit left on at all? Why do they need to tear the floor out to put in a recessed outlet? But okay, I'll let it go for the plot progression. ^^
