Wonderful story
This is such a cute beginning to the story. There are days when all of us want to escape from our everyday lives. Gulf is doing a great job of using three languages in the series. He is also very expressive, so even though I only speak English, I still find it easy to follow the storyline.I am looking forward to the next episode.

Episode 1
A sweet love story with a dreamlike atmosphere that further enhances the desire to escape from cages, which, for each protagonist, is represented by different ways of truncating dreams. Miori represents that gentle way of life in Japan, where the days pass in a litany that seems to repeat itself as time passes without major shocks. Gulf, on the other hand, represents that hectic, restless life that doesn't allow time to simply contemplate what's around him. And although both are in different positions in their lives, they share the same longing to simply enjoy the moment and breathe freedom. I loved their acting, the way they combined three languages so harmoniously, and the adorable and subtle way they gave us glimpses into their lives and their memorable first encounter. I'm eagerly awaiting the second episode. Was this review helpful to you?

Tokyo Holiday: A Cross-Border Drama That Just Didn’t Land for Me
Ok…For me Tokyo Holiday was kind of DOA (Dead on Arrival).
Hear me out, we watch, we listen, we don’t judge (ok, maybe a tiny bit).
Due to unavoidable circumstances (also known as me quietly saving my sanity), I will not be continuing this drama. Yes, the ML is handsome , you know how Thai men are basically walking eye candy, but even his beautiful face couldn’t convince me to stay.
It’s hard to put into words, but something just felt… off. Everyone seems a little too over the top, especially when they’re speaking English. The side characters? A real mixed bag , some good, some… let’s just say “room for improvement” Having multilingual dialogues felt like a cultural soup that didn't blend well.
And maybe that’s the thing. Japanese actors have their own style. Thai actors have theirs. Foreigners in Asian dramas? Bless them, but they often bring that “cringe but trying their best” energy. Now combine all of that into one 24-minute episode and… cue my internal tears.
There was just something missing in the way it was executed. The story isn’t exactly groundbreaking, and cross-border dramas can go really right or really wrong. This one? Sadly, it felt stuck somewhere in between.
But hey, if you loved it, I’m happy for you. It just wasn’t my cup of matcha. And that’s okay.

Review First Episode
The premiere of "Tokyo Holiday" gracefully transports viewers to enchanting Tokyo, immediately introducing two souls yearning for something more. Miori Takimoto wonderfully embodies Sakurako's naturalness and quiet longing, hinting at her deferred dreams for the family sweets shop through glimpses of her English studies and wanderlust. In contrast, Gulf Kanawut touchingly conveys Arthit's melancholic confinement. Arthur a successful Thai star, feels trapped by his obligations,. His „escape“ into nighttime Tokyo bursts with joy and zest for life - wonderfully natural and touchingly played. The episode culminates in their magical yet understated, warm first encounter, subtly guided by a (Maneki) Neko (cat) as a charming Cupid. "Mai Pen Rai" (Thai for „Don't worry") emerges as the fitting motto and bridge between these seemingly different but "caged" individuals. Remarkably, even within its short runtime, the series skillfully establishes surprising depth, seamlessly blending modern fairytale and anime storytelling with a slice-of-life's observational pace, all set against dreamy Tokyo visuals. Overall, "Tokyo Holiday" offers an enchanting and surprisingly profound introduction, promising to explore themes of dreams, responsibility, freedom, and connection, thanks to compelling characters, atmospheric setting, beautiful visuals and music, and a brave language integration that leaves a memorable first impression. Was this review helpful to you?
Arthit and Sakurako
Still at Arthit and Sakurako first meet but i feel so excited to see their upcoming eps chemistry 🥹 The way both of the lead roles have to speak other language and try their best in delivering it to the viewer is amazing. The soundtrack by Arthit and Sakurako are also amazing. Hopefully it'll be available on other music platform as well🥹Was this review helpful to you?
Gulf Kanawut
I was hooked after the first episode. It’s brilliantly funny, sad, warm. Gulf speaking in three languages made me look like I was hypnotized. How can one story have such poignant innocence yet so much "life" at the same time? Relation between the two main characters is really sweet. I also enjoyed the performance by the great Richard, who play the manager so well. Can't wait for the next episodeWas this review helpful to you?
Love that transcends language barriers
Great quality ,very cute and fun production. Not the usual and boring love story. Gulf and Miori's chemistry and performance is just so lovely and natural that makes it easy to understand and follow . The 3 different languages (japanese, thai and english)also helps to understand the trama better. My only complaint is that the episodes are too short and I have to wait a whole week for the next one. A most watch 👍Was this review helpful to you?
