This is a mystery horror that begins with the diary of a dead person. The story begins one day when a mysterious diary arrives at Kuki Yuji's house. It was written by his grandfather's older brother, a man named Sadaichi, who was supposed to have died in the war. The diary contains a statement of an obsession with life: "I want to eat a cassowary." From the day that Yuji and his wife Yuriko read the diary, mysterious events begin to occur frequently around them. Human obsessions eventually transcend time and space and begin to erode reality.
