Crocodile River (1964)

Jampun, the daughter of a wealthy Chumphon merchant, is in love with Amnuai, the son of a court lady. However, their two elders don't see eye to eye as Jumpon's father wants her to marry the son of a fellow merchant and Amnuai's mother wants him to marry the daughter of a high-ranking official. One day, Jampun's father learns she's been having sex with Amnuai in secret. In anger, she is cruelly stripped, chained and locked up. With the help of her younger brother, though, Jampun files open her chains and runs away with the remenants of the chain attached to her leg. When Jampun reached Amnuai's home, she finds him sleeping with another woman. Heartbroken, Jampun crawls out to the river famous for its crocodiles. Having lost all hope in life, she swims out.
