EP.4 — Loving Someone Hurts

Episode 4 made me realize again how painful Chen’s position is.

Fourmod wants to be an idol, and Chen understands what that dream means. That is why, even when Fourmod tells the agency that he doesn’t have a boyfriend, Chen can only say, “It’s okay.”

But of course, it isn’t okay.

What frustrates me about Fourmod is the way he uses other people to test someone’s feelings. He seems to need proof that he is loved, even when Chen’s love is already right in front of him. Watching Chen continue to love him quietly makes Fourmod’s behavior even harder to accept.

At the same time, this episode made the structure of Gelboys clearer to me. These relationships seem to be built on repeated separation and reconstruction—people hurting each other, losing each other, and only then realizing what the other person meant to them.

Maybe Fourmod also needs to see Chen’s love clearly before he can understand its value.

But seriously, Fourmod… you idiot.

Loving someone really hurts.
