If you’ve ever wondered how far comedians can be pushed before they crack—Welcome, Now Get Lost might just have your answer. This Japanese variety show takes comedy reality TV to a bizarre new level—and it’s kind of brilliant.The premise? A group of comedians is sent to a remote, fictional village where they're ambushed by "villagers" who do nothing but insult and provoke them. The twist is that the comedians aren’t allowed to get angry. If they do, they’re out. It’s like Survivor meet the Korean "of course" game.
Throught the episode, you find yourself rooting for the comedians to keep their cool, while also laughing at the absurdity of what they’re enduring. In order to understand the jokes you need to have a knowledge of the japanese celebrities' lifes - or you could do what I did, google every joke that I didn't understand :)
If you’re tired of the same-old Western reality shows, this one is refreshing. It’s a little weird, a little chaotic, and totally fun once you get into the rhythm.
