Morikawa Yukio (22), a fourth-year student in the Faculty of Literature at a self-proclaimed "F-rank University," is an outdoor free spirit whose motto is "The richness of life is determined by the number of times you drink ice-cold beer in the great outdoors, under the blue sky." In front of Morikawa, a classmate of his, Yagi Takuma (22), who is struggling with job hunting, appears. Morikawa convinces Yagi that "To succeed in job hunting, it is important to accomplish something during your student years," and proposes an adventure of "rowing a rubber boat developed by a condom manufacturer from the upstream to the sea." He also invites his friend and junior colleague, Matsumiya Ichirota (22), and the three of them set up a tent on a riverbank deep in the mountains of Chiba, fill their stomachs with fried crayfish, and embark on a rustic camping trip. The next morning, the three of them manage to make a successful river rafting trip with a desperate determination, and feeling a sense of accomplishment, they start going camping almost every week, finding some excuse or another. They go on a "cost-effective camp" where they survive on natural foods when they are struggling to make ends meet, a "natural open-air bath camp" where they pile up natural stones in the river and have fun, and a "stylish camp" where they set themselves apart from their rivals... They also embark on an unusual journey, involving Yayoi Sanjo (21), a female student who has always dreamed of living the outdoor life of the three... At every destination they meet, they encounter a peculiar bunch, such as Chiaki Oyama, a cool, model-like female solo camper who is always trying to dominate others.
