Brilliantly written revenge story about two sisters with strong performances from the cast
This drama went on my radar when I started fancying Zhao Ting Yi after watching him in Nanny, Don't Flee! I finally got around to watching the drama last weekend and wow, I was very impressed by the quality of this drama.What I liked:
1. FL characterisation - She was tactical, confident and sassy and I loved it! She gave off this siren vibe with her attitude and penchant for red dresses. I also liked seeing the character growth.
2. Writing - Damn, I loved these lines 'Ambition isn't bad but does your competence match your ambition?' and 'I dressed for myself not for a man'! That clapback scene with bored, rich housewives was brilliant. The dialogue about class difference when FL & ML were in the car. Another highlight is the hospital scene when the secret was unveiled to ML.
3. Romance - I liked that FL chased ML with a string of dates that teased their age difference. There were good kisses but no steamy scenes. Well I saw them as "life partners" supporting each other's needs. Mature relationship.
4. ML characterisation - New money but he always remembered his humble beginnings which I liked a lot. He was an astute observer, noticing something amiss with FL but never pushed her to tell him until she was ready. He was also very patient - gosh imagine having to deal with bratty manchild.
5. Acting - Great performances by Deng Ling Shu, Zhao Ting Yi, Jiang Wu Han, Huang Xing Rao and Yu Xiang Ying. I did, however, wish Deng Ling Shu to up the ante during two scenes: the conversation about class difference when they were in the car, and the hospital scene when the secret was out.
6. Revenge arc - FL's revenge plan was well thought out. However for me, it was great to see main character having conflicted feelings after revenge plan was successfully executed. She started to see ML more than just a tool.
7. Family - This is the core theme of the drama from FL and SFL tumultuous relationship to FL's sickly mother and ML's rotten son. I liked that different dynamics were explored in this drama.
What I disliked:
1. Antagonists - SFL was insecure, manipulative and ungrateful. I couldn't believe she was willing to do such things to her adopted family who treated her well. SML (ML's son) was greedy and moronic. The type of person who thought he could get away with this just because his father was wealthy and influential.

It's an alright revenge.
I honestly was expecting more revenge acts on FL's part and kept waiting.other than the first few things, nothing really happened. She kept threatening but like...rather than really doing any scheming outside of marrying the ex's father, things just happen. 2ML and 2FL aren't bright nor anything so it wasn't challenging to make them both lose lol the main couple chemistry was the best part of this drama.Was this review helpful to you?
Revenge, Romance, and Steamy Chemistry — A Twisted Love Story
The heroine takes revenge on her adopted sister, almost ruining her life, stealing her fiancé, and even marrying her sister’s single father-in-law, becoming both her sister’s and ex-boyfriend’s “mother.”
Despite the age gap, the chemistry between the leads is solid. The hero cherishes her like a princess, and their romance is full of steamy and tender moments. Zhao Ting Yi looks manly and handsome, perfectly fitting his role, while the heroine’s charm adds depth and allure to the story.
Overall, an intense, dramatic, and deeply engaging mini-drama that I absolutely loved

A melhor vingança foi feita
Este drama de vingança é um dos melhores já produzidos com atores a altura e uma produção ótima.Cast: Desde a adaptação "Tai Zi Ye Ta Guo Fen Ye" eu gosto da atriz Deng Ling Shu e presto atenção em seus dramas, aqui sua personagem faz uma FL extremamente forte, que apesar de ter aguentado muita coisa calada, seguiu em frente, mas quando sua mãe é ferida, mostra sua força e determinação.
Eu simplesmente sou apaixonada pelo ator Zhao Ting Yi, gosto da sua presença em cena, lembro de ter o conhecido em "Love as Life", um drama lançado depois deste, então ao dar aquela espiada encontrei este e o assisti, mas na época, por alguma razão, não marquei.
FL & ML: Ambos os atores foram ótimos em cena juntos, a tensão entre os seus personagens era bem interessante, principalmente no começo quando a FL estava o atraindo para sua armadilha de sedução. O desenvolvimento do casal foi bem natural após o casamento, ele sempre a deixando ser livre para fazer o que quisesse, mas a protegendo e não permitindo que outros a humilhassem.
2ML & 2FL: A personagem Meng Qiu é uma antagonista diferente do que estamos acostumados a ver em dramas verticais, ela pode sim gritar, ser ardilosa, mas soube dosar, juntamente com o canalha do Huo Shao Chun, os embates para com a FL, principalmente na presença do ML, já que ambos eram extremamente gananciosos e almejavam o poder e status acima de tudo. As atuações também foram ótimas, apesar de serem personagens desprezíveis.
O conjunto de tudo que citei acima foi um ponto extremamente positivo para o desenvolvimento da história porque normalmente é bem desgastante as artimanhas dos antagonistas.
Quando o ML finalmente descobre a verdade é de partir o coração, mas a cena deles se encontrando no restaurante foi bonita.
Acho que a cena mais doce foi quando a FL pediu o abraço para o ML no carro e a cena mais impactante foi quando a FL confrontou e contou a verdade para a 2FL.
