The Virtuous Queen of Han Episode 1

Liu Che, Emperor Wu of the Han dynasty, is newly ascended to the throne. After returning from a deer hunt, his grandmother, Grand Empress Dowager Dou, orders the execution of several important officials loyal to Liu Che. Helpless and inexperienced, he feigns enjoyment to mask his grief and anger. Meanwhile, Zifu lives as a servant to Princess Pingyang. When Zifu saves a child from Han Yan’s carriage by the roadside and causes injury to him instead, he orders the capture of Zifu and her brother Wei Qing. By the virtue of her wit she is rescued by three nobles, including the Prime Minister Dou Ying. She sums up the people’s sufferings to the Prime Minister in six words, after which she leaves in a rush.
