Jiangji refuses to repent even after being given the chance to do so, and a disappointed Zifu orders her execution. In Huainan, Duan Hong meets Liji, whom Liu An has taken in as his goddaughter. When Duan Hong’s father dies of illness, Liu Che keeps it from Zifu so as not to distract Duan Hong or raise Liu An’s suspicions. While she understands his motives, she can’t help but feel sad.
