Liu Che, Princess Pingyang and Duan Hong embark on a search for truth. Duan Hong finds the source of the poison, but as the deadline approaches the suspect Dong Yu suddenly dies. Duan Hong finally discovers an affair between Fan Niang and Dong Yu. After Liu Che pleads with Chen Jiao to no avail, he then escorts Fan Niang and Xiaoqian to Changxin Palace to reveal the truth.
