Ren Jian You Wei

Through the smoke and fire rising from the kitchen stoves of Wantangju, a century-old restaurant in Beijing, the turbulent rises and falls of China’s modern history over the past thirty years are reflected. In the 1990s, Fan Da Cheng was recruited into the kitchen to apprentice under Yang Yue Jun, the head chef of Wantangju. There, he befriends Yang Yu Zhu, Xu Qian Yin, and Ge Qing, as well as three senior fellow apprentices, Feng Bing Ge, Chen Qi, and Shi Yu Ming. Yang Yue Jun intends to cultivate Fan Da Cheng as his successor, but due to conflicts in philosophy and the truth of past events, Fan Da Cheng leaves in anger.
