The best thing I can say: I'm happy it ended...

The biggest problem with this show it the main cast called "Win". He has the charisma of a wallpaper. He speaks more robotic then most and his facical expression was mostly not existent. Of course nobody told him, that his orangeblonde hair does not fit his type, but that's only my opinion. 🤣

As usual this series has a ridicilous story, but it can't reach Khemjira or Goddess Bless You from Death. It has nothing interesting in it. The ordinary BL stuff is there, yes, but it makes this series not interesting. Also the naked ghost with his rabbit mask was an eyesore, because when he took of his mask we know how handsome he really is. But at least he got an nonsense happy end.

The only interesting character of the show was Tong imho. He had emotional scenes and he was the best written. The rest of the script is trash, the direction was weak and overall this show is mostly boring af. The other characters did not make me feel anything, I couldn't have cared less. The finale did not resolve anything, because the writers had no clue what they wrote about. There is something positive: I don't hate it like others in this rating bracket. It's just bad, but it does not get my riled up of it's stupidity. So, if you have not watched yet, skip it, it's not worth your time.

disjointed with little payoff

Overall: there were too many that flitted in and out and the writing didn't make me care about any of them. 8 episodes about 45 minutes each. Aired on SC Flourish Entertainment YouTube channel worldwide cut version https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRPu3eZdevD0uneOl67QZkO__MzzMLdeU&si=Uee0jqd9j2s36QMr and VIU Thailand uncut.

Content Warnings: murder, attempted murder, scary images, blood, past: deaths/murders, suicide, drugging, theft, manipulation

What I Liked
- visuals
- supernatural element

Room For Improvement
- the character/world building exposition dump
- was confused by a character introduced in part 2 and then another new character in part 3 of episode 1, characters flitted in and out
- love triangle
- did not feel chemistry
- comedy sound effects didn't make things funny
- character actions/reactions didn't make sense
- even at the end, a character didn't believe what another character experienced

I am my own worst enemy

Have you watched Khemjira?
Are you interested in a discounted version?
Well let me introduce you to My Secret of Seer - now with an extension pack including a karmic debt, love triangles, and a shirtless rabbit ghost!

I'm serious, this is like a badly made version of Khemjira and I don't know how else to explain it. If you've watched them both, it's very easy to make the connection, the only difference may be the fact that Por Khru himself needs protection and the one who can do it is Khem. Everything else is pretty much the same or very similar.

We've got the karmic debt that won't stop chasing Win, our seer, and it's definitely going to catch up to him before he completes 26. The solution? Seek someone out with great karmic energy (I think). He finds this person, Phleong, almost immediately but then this isn't really brought up again until episode 8.

Because the only thing consistent about this series were the dreams Win had where he was haunted by discount store Darth Vader. Otherwise we spend the episodes watching our seer and his friends trying to establish themselves as influencers, get invited to ghost podcasts or go ghost hunting in places haunted by ghosts who are irrelevant to the plot.

There are several plotlines that run parellel to Win's struggles to find out who is haunting him, including ones where his friend tries to harm him because his crush has a crush on Win, unnamed employees who get major screentime dealing with relationship problems that Win can somehow handle - I don't know a lot of it was nonsense.

There are several characters who are seemingly important to the plot pop in one episode and disappear the next, completely irrelevant in retrospect of course. It was all so weird and disjointed.

After all that, was the romance even good? It SUCKED. The leads had zero chemistry and zero personality. Phleong's only dialogue was "I don't believe in ghosts" and for being a good seer, Win's favourite dialogue sure was "I don't know". He didn't know anything.

And the final reveal was the worst of the lot. It made no sense and was such a terrible explanation to close out what was truly an awful series. The acting was bad, I didn't like any of the couples and I was bored out of my mind.

Do yourself a favour - if you're looking for a good, scary BL with shamans and past lives and the sort, just watch Khemjira.

What a dissapointment!

I was looking foreward to this, but in the end it was a real struggle to finish it.
The story was not bad, but nog great either. The best thing about this whole drama were the visuals and the music. If you don't count the song at the beginning of each episode, because that one wasn't very good.

The acting was very bad! Especially the main actor who played Win! How he managed to get a lead role is a mystery to me, because oh my gosh, he is really one of the worst actors i have ever seen...
There were only 3 good actors in this drama, Fluke, Yuuki and the old man.
All the other actors need to take a lot more acting lessons.

There was a bit of chemistry between the leads and the kiss scenes were ok.

I do not recommend watching, this is really a waste of your time.

I was really excited to start this series, but after the first few episodes it kind of lost its charm. It’s a shame when you’ve got an interesting story, but bad direction and a messy script ruin it. The characters felt underdeveloped and lacked the emotional depth needed to really make an impact. The actors showed occasional sparks of personality, but the weak writing killed any chance of genuine performances. Maiake and Tar are adorable, but I didn’t feel any chemistry between them. As for the acting, it seems like this was the debut for some of the cast, so there’s definitely room to grow. The ending kind of suggests there might be a second season.

Temu version Khemjira?

If you're expecting a drama like Khemjira, you will be sadly disappointed with this one. The story is inconsistent to say the least, there were plenty of times I had no idea what was going on. I couldn't even give you a summary if you asked for it.

The first 2 eps. were promising. I liked the tarot card psychic thing combined with the podcast. Unfortunately it goes downhill from there.

The most disappointing is that all elements to make a good show are present. A pet ghost, a love triangle, a jealous bff, a handsome rich suitor, who is a natural protector, a twin shaman, ghosts, possession, etcetera. None of these are properly fleshed out and remain merely a potential.

The acting is bad overall. The dialogue only half done, scenes are cut off before we get to the point. We don't get any backstory from anyone, and some plotpoints are never followed up on.

Anything good? Hmm maybe the visuals? The music isn't bad. The main romance has a good build-up. That's it. I don't think i'll rewatch or recommend. And then they even gave us a post-credit scene, that could suggest we will be tortured with ehm treated to an S2??

Intriguing story idea, rough execution

This story had the potential to be really interesting but the writing left a little bit to be desired. There were a lot of plot threads that were left unfulfilled. Also the completion of some of the storylines left a lot to be desired. Some of the characters motives did not make the most sense and it didn't match the vibe that they had previously been portraying. Things kind of went from 0 to 100 very quickly with no intermission sometimes. The Romantic Chemistry Between the main leads was somewhat lacking in that I was confused as to how they got together in the first place, because it very much seemed like they weren't actually interested in each other based on the actual dialogue but then suddenly they were together somehow?

In general I did enjoy the story but it just left me confused in some places and the ending wasn't very satisfactory. I think this could have used more tweaking and fleshing out to be a fully robust storyline. The last episode felt like they just wanted to be done and then they moved on but then wanted to give you a feeling of or is it, which at this point didn't really hook me.

Spoilers so TLDR: Cute, Inane, & Low Stakes

Despite some rather melodramatic supernatural crises this was an incredibly flaccid supernatural romance. Character stories never went anywhere; so much of what was begun ended up just hanging in the air, never to be resolved. The actors were cute, but unconvincing, the third wheel was unlikeable, and one of the supporting characters was more compelling than the leads, and he kind of got a resolution of sorts. I honestly did come back to this each week, despite its deeply mediocre production and writing, but only because the cast was so decorative.

I will never be even slightly tempted to re-watch this, but I hope to see the actor who played Tong (Yuuki) put to better use in other dramas. He was the best of a very middling group of cuties, and his character had an actual arc, which nobody else did, not even the leads. It would have been so easy to pull an arc out of phloeng’s disbelief, or Win’s fears, but no. Neither was apparently at all changed, either by events, or the relationship.

Speaking of which, there was never any apparent deepening of the relationship. Win just suddenly welcomed Phloeng’s intimacy, so they were intimate. The relationship felt like it went on off-screen, while we were dealing with other plot elements. seriously, I had no idea what Win was thinking or feeling at any point.

Namo was into Wayu, but it never went anywhere. The rabbit ended up paired off, despite being a total loose thread, so I guess that was a resolution. I’m at a loss, really. I don’t know what the minds behind this were thinking.

Weak Storytelling

I really like My Secret of Seer’s visuals, and it started off strong, but the editing becomes increasingly messy as the story progresses. Win’s character—a fortune-teller who can also see ghosts—is a unique combination, and the plot has potential, but the execution is lacking. Many scenes jump abruptly from one place to another without proper connection, making it confusing at times. The story doesn’t flow smoothly, and some scenes feel poorly arranged. There are also several moments that don’t make sense and come across as fillers.

On top of that, the romance suffers from a slow burn. The love confession only happens in the final episode. From the start, the show focuses more on the love triangle between Phloeng, Win, and Tul, as well as Win’s circle of friends. The romance feels more like a subplot because the main story revolves around finding Win’s karmic creditor to fix his condition.

I also feel like Phloeng is treated more as a side character than a main one, since he barely gets enough meaningful screen time with Win and he did not shine throughout. The acting is passable—not top-tier, but understandable since they’re rookies. The NC scenes are quite stiff as well. The only things I genuinely liked were the visuals and the OST.

Would I recommend it? Maybe—if you truly have nothing else to watch and just want something to pass the time. But with the number of good BL series available nowadays, there are definitely better options.

.

Overall, it was a fairly good series about love and friendship. The alternative BL theme was a pleasant surprise.

this drama sucks

This is probably the worst acting i have seen in a bl, even shortfilm bls have better actors, such a waste.. The story also makes no sense whatsoever. This definitely has no rewatch value at all. I went in with an excited feeling and came out with the biggest disappointment. For the people reading this, please don’t waste your time on this horrible drama, even after 6 episodes i still don’t even know what the plot is.

An Ambitious Project That Failed

As of episode 2 this one has A LOT of problems, but it also has a lot of heart, soul and ambition so I'm going to keep watching it for now. You kind of get the sense that the entire cast and crew maybe took on a little more than they could handle, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they pull it off by the last episode. There were a number of times I was confused and bewildered as to what was actually happening and why, but at least some of that might also be the result of cultural issues or, more likely, bad subtitle translations.

Regardless of its flaws, you do also get the sense that everyone's trying very hard, and that actually counts with me on a BL series like this that's clearly trying to make something good on what's probably a shoestring budget. Here's to hoping they overcome the odds and succeed.

REVISED REVIEW:

I'd hoped this would improve over time, but it only got worse unfortunately. And the final episode/ending was downright cringe-worthy. I actually stopped watching about half-way through it, and have no plans to ever finish watching this mess. That bad.

The writing was awful, and often completely nonsensical, making the whole production a complete unfocused disaster. I feel badly for the actors who seemed like they were trying their best to make things work. Sadly, nothing could save something this poorly conceived and executed. Beyond amateur. I'm still curious as to how something this awful could have even gotten made. Khemjira it's not.
