Four Stars

I loved the cooking scenes. This ep shows how a great chef can elevate not the greatest of ingrediants. I liked to that Han was showing Du Yueong and explaining to her what he was doing with each dish. Pyeongyeon Group has terrible history with Han but I don't think his father was a chef, maybe a food critic, investigative jounalist? Looking forward to the rest of the series, especially the food challenges!

What a outstanding drama

Final Table Ep. 1 serves a gripping chef-revenge setup: stylish cooking, mystery, and Ahn Hyo-seop’s strong charm.

Episodes 1–2: Culinary Miracles and Corporate Clichés

It's one of the most overused clichés in Korean dramas: the classic corporate culinary David versus Goliath story, where a humble protagonist with almost divine talent takes on the usual ruthless, unscrupulous corporation. And here we go again: slow-motion shots of vegetables being chopped, epic music accompanying the plating of a bowl of rice, and solemn speeches about "passion" versus "greed."This chef doesn't buy tomatoes. He discovers THE tomato! He doesn't select meat. He finds the only damn cow on the planet worthy of being cooked! In other words, cooking becomes a demonstration of supernatural powers. Then comes his first masterpiece, which takes him two hours to prepare. And what's the result? Four little red blobs, three tiny flowers, and a puddle of orange sauce! And the magnificent name of this creation? "Seared Scallops with Chorizo Sauce." In other words, scallops with sausage! Then comes the obligatory scene: the restaurant owner's tasting experience. She closes her eyes and undergoes an almost orgasmic spiritual revelation. As if she were tasting mucus freshly extracted on a cold winter morning for the very first time! She can't simply say, "Wow, that's delicious!" Nooooo! She has to launch into an entire damn speech describing the flavors, textures, and absolute perfection of every ingredient.I can't even imagine some poor customer arriving absolutely starving, paying a fortune, and being served this ridiculous nonsense after waiting two hours. But that's precisely the trick: the series desperately needs us to admire the chef's genius, so it transforms the preparation of a simple dish into an almost religious event.**Zero out of five stars!**
