Three months have passed since Yuko returned to work. Mayumi is still with Ichiro, but her hair salon is thriving, and Ichiro himself is now a hugely popular actor. One day, Mayumi suggests to Yuko that they take a trip to America to visit Sakiko, who lives there. On the day of departure, Yuko spots Kanichi at the airport. As she thinks about him during the flight, Mayumi becomes acquainted — and soon close — with a man she meets on the plane, Kurihara Daisuke. After arriving, the three women reunite and go out to dinner with Daisuke and his senior colleague Sakuraba. During the meal, Mayumi impulsively lies, claiming that both she and Yuko are single. As they reminisce about the past, it becomes clear that Sakiko is carrying her own troubles — Sawamura has quit university and fallen into a life of heavy drinking...
