Between Steps Episode 1

Introductions and dismissals

This episode introduces Park Min Jae at a Dr appointment being told his cancer has been in remission 5 yrs and he can consider himself cured. He’s the only one not convinced. He meets a girl on the bus that thinks his shoulder is the best pillow ever.🤣He finally gives up trying to move her and accepts his defeat falling asleep with her. They are very cute🥰 He wants his lab buddies to finish their robot Danny but they talk him into making a bucket list with them. Chicken was easy to cross off but dating was a whole other tier of accomplishment. He calls a friend and makes a date, he even buys red roses. It turns out she didn’t realize it was a date, brought her team leader along and asked him what he thought. 🤣 Im Yu Jin is the sleeper from the bus and her friend is trying to talk her into grad school. Yu Jin isn’t sure. She feels done with school but not convinced she has the skills to make it in the industry either. Her friend finally persuaded her to consider it and they head out to their graduation banquet. She does not like the guy calling her friend and makes it clear she thinks he’s a loser. Their banquet is at same place Min Jae is having a ‘date’. He goes to check out the robot and hears yelling. The gal from the bus is beating on a guy and another gal is crying. He accompanies them to the police station but loses cool points for not seeing anything and refusing to share his phone. He feels bad and has Yu Jin meet at the restaurant to see if the robot picked up any audio, but that was unsuccessful. Yu Jin’s friend is ignoring her and her mentor professor that wanted her to be successor now says she has to apologize to the jerk or be dismissed from the program. Her friend claims they’re dating and that she was the problem.😝🙄Yu Jin refuses because no is no dating or not. She thanked her professor for the lesson and left. Min Jae made a better impression second meeting after trying to get evidence from robot and agreeing no is no even if dating. She wants to know why he chose engineering and he referred the comic Slam Dunk to her as the reason. I wonder if she will read it. I am annoyed with the hypocrisy of the professor and sad that her friend is a domestic violence victim already in the making. I also wonder where the next chance encounter will be for Min Jae and Yu Jin. Enjoying the story even with the heavy undertones.
