Like Kaye and Phat, the two male leads of Under the Skin (Shen Yi & Du Cheng) bond over a murder case involving Shen Yi's art. Shen Yi is a painter whose portrait was used to murder a police officer. Later out of guilt, Shen Yi joins the police force as a sketch artist and work alongside hot tempered detective Du Cheng to find the culprit. Both dramas are centered around art, police bureau, artists and murder mysteries. Shen Yi and Du Cheng like Kaye and Phat, slowly get to know and trust each other as they solve more cases with Du Cheng's bravery & leadership and Shen Yi's observative and sketching qualities. Under the Skin is a well crafted thriller that involves a police sketch artist deconstructing and reconstructing the layers of chaos, rationality, and darkness under the human skin as well as his shared past with a police detective.

Both stories focus on a series of murders that are all done in the fashion of a particular story/manga/book. The main characters try to stop this series of brutal murders.

Both shows are Thai GMMTV produced BROMANCE shows (so no direct romance but very strong bond between the two main male characters and similar promotion than BL). GMMTV saw a lot of success with high school frenemy so Mr.Kill is their next attempt at establishing such a bromance pairing, using the previously popular "ghostship" DewTee.

GMMTV produced shows with a lot of overlapping casts. In Burnout Syndrome, Dew got in between the Offgun pair, while in Mr. Kill, Off seems to disrupt the DewTee pair (or he at least shows up in a similar enemy/rival role than in Burnout Syndrome). In both, the main characters is an artist too and the vibe seems more serious.

Both shows are dramatic thrillers with Dew playing a main character and Chic Sakon Tiacharoen as the director. They characters become involved in a bloody series of events that they try to stop.

Both are gmmtv produced series in which two guys who starts off as rivals have to work together to solve a series of murders that are connected to one of them (in Mr. Kill, the murders are inspired by the MCs comic, in Dare you to death the MCs brother is the prime subject/at risk of getting killed). During the investigation, the leads become very close in a romantic/bromance (Mr. Kill) way.
