IT'S GREAT TO ME

The series is exactly what the trailer showed! within 10 episodes, they've slowly developed characters and it's great! WilliamEst are so good in acting, their dialogues and Intimate scenes are so well written and filmed! everyone should watch it! They are supposed to be red flags in their own way, avoidant and playboy is their characters. I think they played it out very well, it was never supposed to be anything else. the fun banter, understanding feelings and changing personalities kept me hooked.

The Most Relatable and Genuine Series I have ever watched

Some series are entertaining, some make you emotional, and then there are those rare ones that make you feel seen. You Maniac is exactly that for me.

What makes it so special is how genuine everything feels. The characters don't feel like fictional people created just to move the story forward; they feel like real human beings with real emotions, insecurities, flaws, fears, and feelings they don't always know how to express. Their reactions, conversations, and relationships feel natural rather than unnecessarily dramatic or forced.

I especially love how the series allows its emotions to exist without trying too hard to explain them to the audience. Sometimes, it's the smallest moments, the simplest conversations, or the things left unsaid that end up meaning the most. And that's what makes the story so relatable

A nice breather from the cliche red flag story and totally worth watching

It's a fantastic drama. It's certainly not the cliche red flag story some people expected. Those characters and their flaws hits closer to home and reality. Many people might be able to relate to them, their insecurities, problems and actions. There isn't always a need for all those cliche dark romance themes people expect from red flag characters in order for a character to have red flag traits and I hope people can appreciate this fact.

I've seen some people complain about a lack of plot? I strongly disagree. It's not a drama with a overdramatic plotbunny and a big problem to solve or a big boss to fight. It's a more realistic drama where you follow some messy characters along on their journey to get closer and untangle some of their issues. This is literally the plot. Dean and Moth certainly have their own way to deal with their issues and dealing with things means for them complete opposite things.
It's also not a drama which spoonfeeds you everything. You have to actually use your brain here and there to think about things, like why characters act in a certain way or how their past affects their behavior in the present. You don't have to always agree with their actions but you might need to try to understand them.

The acting itself of WE is phenomenal in my opinion. Both can express so much simply with their eyes and they improve so much with each role. Their acting feels so natural and I'm a huge fan of all those domestic scenes and their little touches through the drama.
BK did a good job with action too. Here and there it felt a little bit stiff but this could also be because of the characters and it's hard to compete with WEs natural acting in the same drama. (sorry, my bias, I know)

The OST? Simply amazing. Nothing to add here,

I can't say that it's a drama without flaws. Some cutting choices were a bit aprupt, not sure if those were stylistic choices or not. Also Ten and Puns relationship felt a bit rushed along the way. Maybe this could have been avoided if the team had one or two episodes more to work with instead of just 10? We will never know.

All in all I love this drama and will absolutely rewatch it.

YOU MANIAC: A SIMPLE STORY THAT BECAME SO MUCH MORE BECAUSE OF ITS CHARACTERS! ❤️‍?

Honestly, I really enjoyed this series. It might seem like your typical love story, but what makes it different is how deeply we get to explore the characters and understand why they are the way they are.

I absolutely loved Dean and Moth, their friends, and the supporting cast. But William and Est? They really brought these characters to life!

What I particularly appreciated was how properly their emotional backstories were explained. We understood why Dean wasn’t interested in falling in love and why Moth was so reserved when it came to expressing his feelings and receiving advances from people, especially since he wasn’t comfortable with them in the first place.

And this is where I think the series really excelled. Emotional backstories shouldn’t just be there to give characters trauma or make them appear complicated. They have to make sense and actually convince us why these characters behave the way they do. Some dramas struggle with this, but You Maniac did an excellent job. Their experiences felt meaningful, and their character development was genuinely convincing.

I also loved how the series balanced the emotional moments with the comedy. That scene where Dean was telling Moth not to go really stood out to me. It showed his vulnerability, and I absolutely loved it.

And of course, there were no boring episodes from Episode 1 to the last episode! Episode 10 had me giggling and kicking my feet. Dean was steady dropping punchlines! 😭

I don’t know why some people think this series is overrated, but it certainly isn’t overrated to me. It kept me entertained for the past ten weeks, and I genuinely enjoyed watching it.

William and Est understood their characters and brought them to life in a way that made the story so much more meaningful.

I’m going to miss them so much. I miss them already. ❤️

A love story full of red flags, but not a toxic one

You Maniac is one of those series that deserves a chance beyond its premise. Yes, the characters are walking red flags, they make questionable choices, they are messy, complicated and far from perfect — but that’s exactly what makes their story so interesting. The series manages to explore all of that without turning their relationship into something simply toxic.

At its core, there is actually a very beautiful love story here. It’s about two flawed people slowly discovering what it means to genuinely care about someone, while trying to navigate their own fears, insecurities and feelings.

William and Est are absolutely incredible as Dean and Moth. Their performances are one of the strongest parts of the series, and the chemistry between them feels effortless. They can communicate so much through a look, a pause or the smallest change in expression, and they really make you believe in the connection between these two characters. They carry this story beautifully.

And, of course, watching WilliamEst together is an event in itself. Their chemistry alone is worth pressing play.

You Maniac may introduce you to two red flags, but underneath all the chaos, it gives you a surprisingly tender and compelling love story. Give it a chance.

Promised Red Flag vs Red Flag. Got Light Green Flags

I will forever love WilliamEst but side couples flopped for me and wasn't feeling the Bright appearance (not a fan but that's me)
I have to say the hype was misguided and to whomever wrote this you need red flag training. A red flag doesn't bed someone and request friendship. A red flag is not a moody guy let down by his first crush and decides no one is worth giving a chance until another "red flag" captures your interest.
WilliamEst are phenomenal and they did splendid with what they were given.
Khun Rome was more of a red flag then Dean. Khun Rome killed a group of men for daring to cross his reign and to mildly wound his boyfriend (in Peach and Me)
I respect everything about WilliamEst but BarcodeKin (nothing) AunStamp (nothing again though there is a slight bit of potential)
Just my opinion don't come for me.

Thoughts so far

1. Great to see a female director in charge. And she is an acting teacher too. No wonder William and Est's performances are so natural.

2. I have to say that You Maniac does feel like a true contemporary romance! Dean and Moth are definitely two very recognisable Gen-Z archetypes in 2026.

Dean is that performative guy who posts everything he does on Instagram, slides into all your friends’ DMs, goes clubbing every week, and will lovebomb you one week and ghost you the next, then try to gaslight you into believing you were delusional to think he ever liked you. Moth is a different side of the same modern-day decease: the fear to relinquish a bit of control and admit that you want/ like someone. He is the type of person who will give you signs that he likes you, then withdraw, then give you signs again -- all because he treats relationships like a game he must win and wants you to admit you like him first because confessing his feelings looks like losing to him. Tell me you haven't met at least one of these types!

3. As I wrote in one of my comments, if the show is going where I think it's going, we are in for a wild ride. There is always a possibility that GMMTV will mess things up in later episodes, but I like how the story is developing so far. I don't think that catching feelings quickly is contradictory to red-flag behaviour. When people are toxic separately and incompatible together, catching feelings for each other often brings out the worst in them! Not to mention that "feelings" might be generous: Dean seems to like Moth just because Moth's an exciting challenge, while Moth seems like he is simply in lust with Dean, lol.

Let's see how it goes. I'm having a lot of fun watching it so far. WilliamEst's chemistry is off the charts!

I Love William and Est, but Chemistry Alone Is Not Enough

I know fan shipping is not really a big thing in Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese and Chinese BL, but it has a massive audience in Thai BL. Personally, I do not mind fan shipping as long as it works. What I do not agree with is giving a series a high rating just because our favourite couple is back together.

For example, Gemini and Fourth were great in My School President, Moonlight Chicken and Ticket to Heaven. All three had completely different stories and I loved seeing them together in those roles. But for me, My Love Mix Up was a completely different experience because I thought the plot was extremely weak.

My point is simple. Just because your favourite couple is in a new series does not automatically make the series good. If the plot is bad, then it is bad. Do not give it a 10 just because you love the pairing.

Now back to You Maniac.

The first three episodes is only around 40 minutes, yet there are already so many 10 star reviews calling it a masterpiece. Yes, William and Est are back. They look absolutely gorgeous together, and the chemistry is definitely there. I love them from ThamePo and gave that series a 10/10, so I was genuinely excited to see them together again.

But honestly, after 3 episodes, I was disappointed.

Where is the plot?
There was literally not much happening in this first three episodes. The setup has potential, with Dean trying to win over the cold and hard to read Moth, but I did not feel like we were given enough story to become invested yet.

Instead, I felt like GMMTV was doing the copy and paste formula again. Take a popular pairing, give them great chemistry, make them look incredible together and let the fan shipping do the rest.

And this is where I have a problem with all the 10 star ratings already.

I am not saying You Maniac is bad. I am saying it is far too early to call it a masterpiece based on one 40 minute episode. You can love William and Est and still be honest about the quality of the story. I love them too, but I am going to judge the series itself, not just the pairing.

Maybe the story will become much better. I hope it does because I really like the cast and I want William and Est to have another great series together. This review is based only on Episode 1-3, so my rating can definitely change once I watch more.

For now, though, the chemistry is there, the cast is great and the leads look amazing, but the plot is too weak for me to give this anything higher.

Insane Chemistry!

These are two insane characters with even more insane chemistry. They are deeply flawed. Both afraid of commitment.

Their relationship gradually develops from a casual hookup to a deep bond. With lots of back and forth. They keep being drawn to each other, but push each other away constantly.

This series is part comedy and part heartwarming drama. It made me laugh and cry and anxiously wait for the next episode.

The actors are just amazing and convey so many emotions with every expression.
The writing is always filled with tension and the characters' actions are surprising and fun to watch.
Not one boring second.

Them acting stupid is part of their character arc and it works. They have to learn to trust each other and to express their feelings honestly. And that journey is not only very emotional and profound, but also often hilarious.

I have rarely watched a series, where the writing keeps up all the way through. (I haven't seen the last episode yet, but the writing has been so consistently good, that I trust it will be awesome as well.)

The hate on this series is so forced. I started You Maniac expecting a good time and got so much more than that, and I can't pretend otherwise just because some nasty voices online decided to pile on.
One thing is for certain though: the series had people having actual conversations. It got viewers debating, defending, questioning, and sitting with uncomfortable ideas even after the credits rolled, and that's exactly what good storytelling is supposed to do. So it did what had to be done.

The acting is where the series truly shines. William and Est are magical. Every small choices, a glance, a pause, a touch felt meaningful. They didn't just play their characters, they committed to them, even in the messy, questionable, morally gray moments that had people pondering if they were truly red flags. That kind of commitment deserves recognition instead of nitpicking.

Then there's the chemistry, which let me not even start. WilliamEst’s chemistry is undeniable. Those boys can act. I see why they shine even in real life. Their scenes together is pure perfection, whether they're arguing, flirting, or laying together in silence, you believe every bit of it. That connection had me yearning for the next episode.

Not every viewer has to love every choice the story makes, and disagreement is fine. But a lot of the criticism on this show is very exaggerated, repeated by people who seem to want a reason to dislike it rather than a reason to engage with it. Put that aside and the show still remains well-made, emotionally charged with strong performances and a clear voice.

I hope WilliamEst are super proud of themselves for another masterpiece. They took a risk, trusted their cast, and delivered something worth nothing. I can't wait for the next line up because they are certainly delivering another masterpiece

WilliamEst brings the best out from You Maniac

WilliamEst has such good chemistry that makes You Maniac so good. they make you dislike a character at the beginning but as the story goes you start to dislike one from the other until you start to love both of them as they are. You Maniac is an emotional series that made me cry out of anger, sadness, and happiness .The fact it's played by WilliamEst makes it so much better they really make You Maniac come to life .

The more you learn about you maniac, the more you realize there's always another layer to uncover.

Some stories are easy to understand, but others make you stop and think about the people behind the choices they make. You Maniac is the kind of series that keeps you curious, not because its characters have everything figured out, but because they don't. They're complicated, unpredictable, vulnerable, and sometimes even contradictory. The more you learn about them, the more you realize there's always another layer to uncover.

What I find particularly interesting about Moth is that his struggles aren't limited to his relationships. His art, his insecurities, his boundaries, and his difficulty understanding his own feelings all contribute to who he is. He doesn't always know how to handle what he's experiencing, and sometimes his actions don't immediately make sense. But isn't that what makes a character feel human? We don't always have the right words for our emotions, and we don't always know whether we're making the right decisions while we're making them. Watching Moth navigate these uncertainties makes his journey feel personal rather than predictable.

Dean, on the other hand, brings a different kind of depth to the story. There's something compelling about the way he expresses himself and the way he approaches Moth. His encouragement isn't always loud or dramatic, but it still matters. He sees things in Moth that Moth himself sometimes struggles to recognize. Yet Dean isn't simply there to solve Moth's problems or make everything better. He has his own emotions and his own experiences to navigate, which makes their dynamic much more interesting than a simple story about one person saving another.

And that's what makes their relationship so engaging. They aren't two people who magically understand each other in every situation. They're individuals with different perspectives, different ways of processing emotions, and different needs. Sometimes they connect, sometimes they misunderstand each other, and sometimes they have to confront feelings that are difficult to acknowledge. Their relationship leaves room for interpretation, discussion, and disagreement, making it the kind of dynamic that stays with you between episodes.

Another thing that makes You Maniac interesting is that the characters' actions invite us to look beyond the surface. It's easy to judge someone based on a single decision, but understanding why they made that decision is an entirely different matter. The series gives us plenty to think about when it comes to emotional vulnerability, personal boundaries, influence, and the importance of being understood. It doesn't have to make every character's choices agreeable for their experiences to be worth exploring.

William and Est deserve recognition for the way they portray these characters. Their performances bring personality and emotion to the story, making the interactions feel engaging beyond the dialogue itself. The subtle expressions, the shifts in emotion, and the way their characters respond to each other add another dimension to their scenes. Their chemistry draws you in, but the individual personalities they've brought to their roles are what give the story its substance.

What I appreciate most is that the series gives its audience something to engage with beyond simply waiting for the next romantic moment. Every episode creates new possibilities for interpretation. You can discuss a character's intentions, question a decision, sympathize with one perspective while understanding another, and still find yourself reconsidering everything when new information comes to light. That kind of engagement is part of what makes a character-driven series rewarding to watch.

You don't have to agree with every character, understand every decision immediately, or interpret every scene the same way as everyone else. Sometimes, the beauty of a story lies in the conversations it creates and the different perspectives it allows people to bring to it.

You Maniac has an evolving story, interesting character dynamics, and performances that make you want to keep watching. If you enjoy series that leave you with questions, give you characters to become invested in, and offer more to think about than what's immediately visible on screen, this one deserves a place on your watchlist.

Don't watch it expecting every character to be perfect or every situation to be straightforward. Watch it for the complexity, the emotions, the character development, and the story that continues to unfold. You might discover that the most interesting part isn't simply what happens next, but understanding why these characters are the way they are.
