Haguregumo (2026)

The setting is Shinagawa-juku at the end of the Edo period. The eccentric man known as “Haguregumo” wears women’s kimonos and ties his hair at the forehead. With his airy, elusive demeanor, he lives freely from day to day, yet before anyone realizes it, he gently sets people’s destinies in motion. The narrative unfolds around the family life of his dependable wife, Kame, and their son, Shinnosuke. At the wholesale office “Yumeya,” run by Kumo, everyday commotions continually arise, woven by the colorful personalities of the head clerk Yokujiro and others.
