Zhen Bang, a convicted murderer, is released from jail and struggles to find a job. You Yi, owner of hotpot restaurant "Hui Tou Lu" (which means second chances), admires Zhen Bang’s character and offers him a job, even though he has a phobia of knives. When You Yi passes away suddenly as a result of saving his troublemaker son, Zi Cheng, from a fight with a gang, Zi Cheng is forced to take over "Hui Tou Lou" from his father.
