Oda Satoru, a university student in the middle of job hunting, has been unable to move forward in life ever since a certain incident that occurred during his high school years. His university friend Shirai Ryo, who has secured a job offer from his first-choice company, and his longtime friend Onda Miku both worry about him and continue to watch over him. One day, a mysterious man calling himself a “memory buyer,” Chrono, appears before Oda and tells him that “humans don’t need unpleasant memories,” encouraging him to sell his painful past memories.
